We aren't the Browns, Jets, Bucks, Dolphins, Chargers, better recent history than lots of teams. McDermott and Beane killing it in Buffalo. Two or more HOF locks in #89,#90,#59......#1.

Open your eyes

Mediocrity is your goal so you're spiking the football over not being the Cleveland Browns?

Jesus...

okay. I thought that was it.

Still sounds like a lot of speculation with no real substance imho.

Like some twitter comments mentioned: Can Cam not get a direct flight, or even a private jet, to avoid these public "sightings?"

It’s early in the process. These things tend to trickle out throughout the day. I would expect some more substantial news on this by tonight.

All I know right now is somebody said they saw him in the airport, there was no mention of a boot, and another reporter is providing analysis that the rehab isn’t coming along.

It’s hard to know if rap sheet is reporting that, or if that’s his analysis. I would have worded it differently, maybe something like: “Sources tell me the rehab is not progressing.”

Maybe he did say that, and I’m just missing it.  Otherwise, it’s hard to know if he has a source feeding him that, or he’s just implying “trust me, I got this, I am Rapaport.”

let's begin with week 2 ron rivera:

"“Don’t even worry about the foot,” Carolina Panthers coach Ron Rivera said. “The foot’s got nothing to do with it.”"

does that not sound like incompetence to you?

Incompetence is a strong word.

in all honesty, no. Sounds like coach speak. Sounds like he is either going off information given to him or withholding details that the staff didn’t wa t being released to the public yet. many organizations, public, private, political will do this. maybe they hadn’t confirmed facts yet.

Without details of how the staff actually handled the injury internally, we can’t apply the “incompetence” label based on an insignificant statement in a press release.

did they get cam newton the care needed after the injury? Did they give him time to heal?

It’s also worth keeping an eye on guys like Max and Bill. When these guys weigh-in, it stands to reason they’ll have some pretty good first-hand information.

And I know the team probably wants to control the flow of that information, so if and when they do tweet something out today, it’s worth taking note of. I don’t think either one of those guys would feed misinformation.

What fruit?

We're probably looking at our third consecutive season missing the playoffs and we're still searching for our first back to back winning seasons. All that the Panthers' culture has created thus far is a rollercoaster ride of intermittent success that has always come up short of the ultimate goal.

We can say that we've attempted to try to mirror the Steelers' model, but in retort I'd say that we've done a piss poor job of actually doing that and simply point to the team successes as evidence.

Rivera is gonna have 3 winning seasons in 9 years after this season lol. it's actually mind numbing when you think about that with all the talent that has been with the org in the last decade. He is literally Fox 2.0. Same amount of winning seasons. and even funnier is if you take away the 2010 2-14 season where JR gutted and tanked the team their winning percentages are almost identical

Why are people blaming Rivera and the staff for this?

Cam straight-up admitted in his YouTube video that he had lied to the team about the extent of the foot injury so he could keep playing. If the team x-rays him, it comes back negative, and Cam says he's good to go....how the hell are they supposed to know his foot is still a problem? This would be very tough for the Panthers medical staff to see coming, much less Ron freaking Rivera.

I don't blame Cam for lying about it because I'm sure it's not the first time he's lied about his injuries so he could keep playing. It's just an unfortunate situation all around. I love blaming people to make people angry on here, you know that, but even *I* am having a hard time figuring out why someone on the Panthers should be blamed for this.
