Well I definitely believe Mr Scot’s theory of there is a problem and teams know. He wouldn’t get to 28th on the waiver list without there being a major issue that teams all know about. Seahawks are pretty well known for taking a big risk.

What's the risk though? It's a talented veteran piece that can help a contending team (I like to hope this staff thinks we are) get even better on a cheap 1 year contract that you can let go in the offseason. There was no risk. At most this would've affected a late comp pick if we decide to spend this offseason, which we never do. If it's an off field risk, then the locker room is perfect and can support a guy like Gordon unlike some of the other teams out there. Just doesn't seem like we should've passed, especially when he was in a position of need.

Suspension would obviously be one risk.

For another, look up the stories of Stanley Wilson and Barret Robbins, two important players who - for different reasons - one day just didn't show up for a game their respective teams were playing in.

Unfortunately, the games in question happened to be Super Bowl XXIII and Super Bowl XXXVII. And in both cases, their teams lost.

When you put yourself in the position of depending on someone who's shown himself to be undependable, you take a risk.  That word "undependable" is swirling around Gordon right now, and given his history it's hard to blame teams too much for being wary.

I guess we can agree to disagree, but It's over now. The teams that passed aren't exactly poster child's of making smart moves. I guess all we can do is laugh at Seattle for being dumb, whilst the Panthers and Raiders can pat themselves on the back for looking smart. Hopefully we can win some more games and take it from there.

To be fair, we're talking about 27 teams here. It's a bit of a broad brush. They're not all stupid (several of them have championships, some multiple).

Whether or not it turns out to be a wise or a stupid decision remains to be seen.
