Steve Smith Rips into Panthers WRs, "They may draft a WR in the 1st this year that will actually give good effort"

Good receivers produce no matter what .

You're making an excuse for Ridley because he's the #3 target, correct? Then continue on saying that Julio is the greatest WR ever, wouldn't that prestige demand double coverage? Leaving the great Calvin Ridley one on one, so what the hell has this guy produced? Neither has lived up to expectations,  but Moore has had 3 different starting QBS over 2 years.

He's not producing sh1t right about now is he? Thinking you're a Bama fan more than anything and that pretty much explains it.

It amazes me how many analysts and people critical of Allen after this beatdown do not realize this. The Panthers game plan was dead after the first quarter, and like always there was no plan B from Ron and Norv. At that point all the Niners had to do was go all out with their front 4 with the pass rush, they could take chances on defense. Was freaking easy, I don't think any QB could have brought the Panthers back or even put up respectable numbers in that situation. If this had been a close game where Allen kept turning the ball over but the defense kept it close then I think the criticism of Allen would have been legit. Allen needs WAY, WAY more time to learn how to overcome these situations against this caliber of defense. The greatest QB's to ever play the game would have fared the same if it was during their first or second season as a young QB (heck, or even after 10 seasons.. lol). Even with a great QB, this team doesn't have enough of an identity or O-line to turn this type of game around. Panthers were one dimensional and done after the first quarter on offense.

There’s a good bit of bias out there.

As @Jeremy Igo has pointed out, there are legitimate examples of Newton as the QB when the Panthers get stomped on. I’ve never put those losses entirely on Cam, nor would I put any one loss solely on Kyle.

Let’s take this game for example. I found the fairest comparison I could find. Just like Kyle, this was cams second season. He had the benefit of Steve Smith in the lineup. This game was at home.

I don’t care if the national media “roasted” Cam after this loss. I didn’t. I don’t do that. Some folks need to quit delivering a sermon to anyone who refuses to take a giant dump on Kyle Allen. Games like this happen, and it’s never on one player. He was bad on Sunday, as was most everybody else.

We have literally no down field game.   What do we expect?    And the bad offensive line plays into this of course.    Hurney and Rivera did a poor job at this point of having a good line (once again).     It's time to move on.    The coaching and leadership failed this team before it hit the field.

Thomas better than Julio? LOL

Julio is arguably the best ever. You’d have to be a legit retard not to think so. Hell, even Larry Fitzgerald thinks so.

Larry Fitzgerald is better than Julio— and it’s not close.

Julio is not in the top 10, maybe not even top 20 ever.

totally ridiculous. Not bashing, wish we had him, but good lord

with that being said I wish we did have a Steve Smith or Chad Johnson or someone with a real attitude.

Pretty sure Smitty is right here.  Both our WR's have shown flashes of potential.  That's probably what pisses Smitty off so much.  Not that they don't have the tools, but that they simply don't play every single play like it's the last one they'll ever play.

Also see a lot of folks trying to say that they aren't putting in effort because they know the ball isn't coming their way, but that's also not based on facts.  Right now, Moore and Samuel are #1 and #2 on our team in receiving targets.  They're being given opportunity.  The highlighted column of numbers is targets.

It's actually pretty even.

When looking at league wide passing / receiving stats, what I find most telling is that the teams who have numerous players who average 10+ targeted air yards, you can look at those teams and discern two things:  They have a great OLine, and they are all clear playoff teams.  What you don't see on all those teams is an amazing QB.  Sure, Mahomes is incredible and Brady gonna Brady.  But Dak Prescott and Jimmy G are not amazing.  Just "good".
