Let me tell you how the rest of the season will go since we are not getting any better.

We're 4-3 after losing our star QB in week 2 (and at 0-2 then), we rally and win four straight then get our butts beaten by an undefeated and really together team after a bye (not to mention after trips to the West Coast AND London). In addition our fantastic MLB loses his Mom unexpectedly that week and our lead DL's younger brother is killed.

Nine games to go and people are already slitting their wrists.

This is the wussiest fanbase, or at least message board, in the NFL. Toughen up a bit, you're embarrassing yourselves.

I would say Panthers have embarrassed us fans by never having back to back winning seasons. If you like cheering for mediocrity, good for you.

I think 9-7 is a pretty fair bet.   I sure hope Tepper cleans house anyway.

Yep

ron has gotten good at beating bottom feeders to save his job

tepper will need to decide if that is what he wants for a franchise

As the old business saying goes ‘keep doing what you have always done and you will get what you always got ‘

Count me among those who do not see the Panthers in the playoffs. The 49ers gashed us like nobody's business. Beat downs such Sunday are not a simple bump in the road during the course of the season. And not remotely linked to a playoff caliber team. A number of miscues were on display Sunday.  The OL is pieced together at the moment. The WRs short armed numerous passes and displayed questionable desire. The QB was rattled and heard footsteps throughout.

And O-M-G (put an all points bulletin out for our D).  Easily Luke's worse game ever, constantly on the outside of the lane of ball carriers.  I only mentioned Luke because historically in Panther losses, Luke does his thing.  Not on this day.....

And the Special Teams upheld their standard of mediocrity.

I have (2) nuggets that evidence this team as a noncontender for post season.

1) The (2) losses at HOME in a 16 game season will almost certainly prove insurmountable.

2) Both lines of scrimmage were obliterated by our opponent. This is a copycat league, always has been. The film is out for everyone to see.  Misdirection the Cats 3 - 4 scheme and collect fantasy points.  And on offense, we have Christian but little else that make the Cats relevant in the discussion of playoff caliber offenses.

With all that said....I support the Black and Blue. But, I have to believe the LINE coaches for the OL and DL are embarrassed and will be VERY animated at practice after the line of scrimmage pummeling by the bay their units received.

I hate to see any negativity, theres no place for it and it spreads like a cancer! Its one thing to have an opinion but i wish the straight negativity would stop! We have alot of reasons to be optomistic, common guys! Even in our wins we have not been 100% healthy nor have we played to our potential. When it all comes together its on.

we actually have the exact coaching combo that got run out of san diego.  so backwards.  maybe i just need to realize we're a smaller market team and this is the best we're gonna get.

Hadn't thought about that, but yeah, it's kinda true.

I disagree on the small market thing though because of Tepper.

(unless he continues to make no changes, at which point, well...)

It is just that one loss and a bunp in the road, we have the players to fix the issues there and this should finally be enough for our coaches to take a long hard look at what is wrong with our run D. It all starts up front, rbs making it to the second level far too much and then keek being blocked out of too many plays. This is the best tape to study and fix ou deficencys that we have had all year.

Your right. I was back and forth on the SEA game. I'm surprised no one caught that sooner. That last NO game could be a win as well because they play their back ups like last year.

I figured the SEA game was the discrepancy when you mentioned two in a row in the last game.  I read all the posts in the thread and kept thinking it had to be me.....after all, I was not exactly a math major!

It doesn't really matter, though.  I don't see 9-7 making the post season, either.  10-6 could, since there is a lot of mediocrity and worse this year, but that might be the bottom edge.

Yadda yadda yadda. You are literally, and have been, cheering for us to be mediocre for years from pre-season through the point at which the fate is decided. You might be right more often than not, but it doesn't make you any less of the a cheerless drudge to be stuck with. Find a new tune or find a new team, because your act is getting old.

Until we get new coaching staff this team will be the same as it has for almost 10 years. Most of us know the truth, maybe u will one day.

As Steve Smith said. We are a average team.
