Of waiting.

maybe the future will bring more analytic driven decisions

around coach hiring

around drafting

around free agent signings

we can only hope

25+ years of mediocrity and still no SB

I fear being one of those fans that waits their whole lives and never gets to see one

it took this long for new ownership and hopefully he understands winning makes more of a profit than just looking to run a “business”

I grew up in Pgh, Pa.........we had a team there that had never been in one playoff game in 40 years of their existence...............

Then when they got around to it they ended up winning 4 SBs in 6 years..................yeah you may be waiting for a while.

We need to go 7-2. If we are hoping to get a playoff spot at 10-6 this year with 3 NFC losses already and losing the tiebreaker with LA, then we are hoping to get lucky. It’s really a top heavy NFC. 6-2 is the 2nd WC team record so the Vikings and Seahawks only have to play .500 ball to be 10-6.

With our schedule being about as hard as it gets including the “easy” two Atlanta games against a team that’s recently 6-2 against us including the year we went to the SB, our playoff chances are slim to none.

Before the year I thought we had to go 5-2 or 6-1 early to have a chance and that was before SF and GB went from potential wins against meh teams to probable losses against the top teams and NO looks way better than the team we played at the end of the year. Not liking our chances at all.

And that's reality folks. The 49ers were a playoff game and we got blew out. I will say this again as well. Rivera and Hurney have never put a winning or playoff season together.

People really are in denial about how mediocre our franchise has been. We finally have some change in place (ownership) the rest needs to follow. A new GM and coach will reinvigorate the fan base. I have been saying this for years. This isn’t a reactionary thread, it was a been there done that tired of the excuse, lack of change and lack of urgency with the coaching staff and front office. The ship will be righted by end of year. Only a super bowl could save change and I can’t see that happening unfortunately.

You make some fair points....

....but "analytics" isn't the across-the-waterfront  panacea you see it to be.

NFL teams are large & complex organizations and turning around one that has been as poorly managed as this one doesn't happen in 1-year.

Patience fella....Mr. Tepper will deliver, he aaaaalways does so.
