Charlotte’s infrastructure in shithole

Charlotte just got into $520M agreement to rebuild airport lobby.  Looks like Silver Line is dildos for now with feds refusing to help.  Light rail extension to Ballantyne is dildos.  Amtrak to North Mecklenburg County is dildos.  Mecklenburg County have no money apparently to ease traffic and road congestion while businesses are piling in and Charlotte is running out of land.  This is going to be a disaster.  Honeywell, Truist, Microsoft, Chime Solutions, US bank, Chase and many others are moving into Charlotte in next 12 months with estimated 10,000+ news jobs.

This is the worst part about Charlotte, other than the heat.     They keep managing traffic very poorly.    They also keep tearing down parking lots uptown for new buildings.   Where are people going to park?    They needed the silver line built 10 years ago and now it's going nowhere, again.

Time to abandon that long, congested and aggravating round trip from Mint Hill to Charlotte.  Move on up to a deluxe apartment in the sky.

Movin' on up!

You finally got a piece of the pie!

Airport Reno is paid for by tax on the airplane tickets and tax at the airport.

now for the city not having any other money, that’s a different discussion but I agree with you. I work in CLT, GSO and RDU every week and can tell you construction at CLT will not stop any time soon. They have expansions at A concourse planned where the new concourse is,  E concourse is planned for a renovation and extension, and they still have to do the pre security Reno.

    • This is factually incorrect. He was a two time Pro Bowler with the Rams and in fact statistically he was better with the Rams in his best season there than he has been with the Lions(could change with this season). Some of his per game stats have creeped into being marginally better with the Lions but there have not been dramatic differences in his play, actually. The biggest reason that McVay and he ended up splitting was McVay didn't think he could win a title with Goff. TBH.....so far he was 100% correct. Stafford almost immediately won them a SB and Goff in a historic run was about 70% of the reason the Lions faltered in the NFC championship game. He missed critical throws all over the first half and throughout the second half that he normally wouldn't. He choked. So, until Goff actually does win a SB...McVay has been right.
    • they have the best defense they've had in a long time...probably the best in the reid/mahommes era.  but i think they are probably the most beatable they've been in a while as well. record doesn't exactly bear that out, but they just don't look as strong on offense as they usually do. lots of reasons for that, like trying to build chemistry with newer receivers, but right now they just aren't as frightening as they typically are. i mean they'll probably win tomorrow, but i don't see them as the strongest team in the AFC right now.
    • He will likely remain unsigned the remainder of this season(barring someone being in a pure QB panic AND making poor decisions) largely due to the cost. I do think he will get multiple offers to be a backup QB and perhaps a couple to potentially start this offseason.  I will continue to beat the same horse over and over.....he should go to a successful team with an established starter. If I were him, go to somewhere like SF, LAR, etc. Somewhere with a successful QB coach and brilliant offensive mind and ALSO a set situation at QB. Ride the pine and adjust for a year or two. Chill and be around better culture. I would suggest the same for Bryce but he will be limited to wherever we can trade him.
