Trade Deadline News

The thing about setting a hard line in negotiation and saying "this or nothing" is that pretty frequently, nothing is what you actually wind up with.

Some people will say "good for you sticking to your guns" and others will say "you could have at least had something rather than nothing".

Given that the teams who "stuck to their guns" today don't exactly have histories of smart management, I'd probably tend toward the latter judgment.

i think you look at our upcoming schedule and the teams that will be vying for a wildcard, and you have to think we're not making the playoffs.  there's not 1 player that will get us there.   you don't let the gm give out high picks in this situation.   that's what i think.   if we make the playoffs it'll be crazy and chances are we're not, and we're a 7-9, 8-8 team looking for a new coach and gm who will want those picks

Trent Williams or Roddy Anderson who i know you could’ve got for a 3rd . People  over rate draft capital as if every  pick mean you gonna get a star

charlotte is too suburban for robby anderson to be shootin jizz in cops faces all willy nilly and running stop lights.  he could hit a kid in either situation

Amazing how if no trade is made - "Fire Marty, he didn't make a trade"

If a trade was made, it would be - "Fire Marty, he gave up too much!!!"

This is literally a no win situation for him with this group.

Most wouldn't have even followed this if Rivera/Hurney had not held on to an empty roster and told us they had a plan

OK, then why open up a roster spot for a whole week and tell everyone there is a plan?

Because maybe their was a plan until the staff heard what teams wanted.

Howie Rosemam is well regarded with making moves at the deadline and most reports say the asking prices were too high.

Plans change

Basically every single NFL team "stuck to their guns" today.

There were only a few teams today who actually had players they were willing to part with in whom other teams had a genuine interest (Bengals, Redskins, Jets and Broncos).

None of them got a deal made.

Whether or not that will prove to be the best decision for them remains to be seen.
