4-1 for a backup QB.

That's not bad man. If Cam comes back next week, I ain't even mad, I just hope he's actually healthy. At least we know that Allen can come in and have a positive record in case Newton goes down again. (Hoping he doesn't)

Side note, everyone played like ass. I want to blame the coaching staff for having TIME and not getting everyone prepared but at this point I don't know if it's on the players, the scheme, the staff or what. But this is the game this team shits the bed on at least once a year. So the blame should really be spread all around.

....I still wanna blame ron the most, the line wasn't set until the third freaking play of the game man...what in the hell is that?

Ain’t one one blaming Kyle Allen. This loss is all on one person and his name is Ron Rivera. So please stop with the Kyle Allen threads. We played bad to start the game with. Got ourselves right back in the game being down only by 14 and then the defense let SF score a td on the very next series

It's hard to keep perspective after a beatdown like this, but all things considered, this is probably the very best we could have hoped for after being 0-2  five days into the season.

We certainly do not look like a SB contender at this point, but we are still in the wildcard mix with over half the season still left.

So much can and does change in 2 months.  This loss certainly hurts, and we're going to have an uphill battle, but we're still in the mix.

The season is already over for all intents and purposes for teams like Atlanta and Tampa.

31 teams are ultimately disappointed.  At least we have hope for now.

We need to focus on winning week by week and see where we end up.

We ran into a buzzsaw today- it really was going to take a perfect game to win and we played our worst game.

If we can regroup and win next week, we will be 5-3 after 16 games.  That extrapolates to 10-6.

Although that might not be enough this year in a stacked NFC, it would still be a good season.  And there are still the majority of division games left to be played so all these NFC contenders are going to sort themselves out.

Kyle played admirably. He did what a backup is supposed to do, hold it down as best you can until the starter comes back. It sucks, he was set up for a downfall with the media poo storm about how he’s the guy, the panthers should trade cam, no INTs etc. I wish nothing but the best for Kyle, but if cam is healthy this is his team.

Pretty much. I know today was hard to watch but well, I'm over it already. Looking back after starting 0-2. I still want Rivera gone, but I'm glad this team went on a winning streak and literally saved this teams chances for the playoffs. Humble pie was served on that buzzsaw. They better learn quick and fix whatever needs fixing. The way things are going 10-6 might not get us in the playoffs and if it does we'll meet the 49ers again in the postseason. They just need to move on, that's it. Hopefully Cam is 110% healthy and is in MVP form otherwise it's going to be a really long season.

I think we’re starting to realize what Kyle’s ceiling is. I’ve been an advocate, dating back in July, when very few people in the media gave a crap. But I’ve been realistic about the situation. Most good football people with good football sense never thought this was a long-term solution. I’m glad he came in and helped win some games. These receivers have got to do a better job too. I think you’ll be surprised on film room Tuesday how little separation there was today. These guys didn’t play that well.

10-6 ain't going to help us this year and that''s going to be tough have 2 against NO, @GB and @Ind among others. Based on today, I'd be shocked if we won any of them and we have to win everything else and at least 1 to get to 10-6.

Also, the Eagles look like 9-7 with 3 tough games and if they steal one they are 10-6. Also, they play Seattle so that's kind of a lose/lose as either they Eagles have a good chance at 10-6 or the Seahawks are 10-6 since that is one of the 5 tough games for Seattle. Seattle also plays Minnesota so again one of those teams wins each. Minnesota should be 10-6 at a minimum with only 4 tough games, but that Seattle one locks in one of these two teams to likely be ahead of us. Same with Seattle/Rams. Rams lose to Seattle and Seattle is easily ahead of us. Rams win and they are likely 10-6 and have the tiebreaker with us.

Losing this game really hurts because I just don't see us winning those 4 games anymore and 9-7 absolutely won't get a WC spot and 10-6 probably won't because we have all 3 NFC losses and one to LA.

Too many division games left to say definitively 10-6 won't get you in the playoffs.

Of course this game hurts, but the season is not over for us.

I'm not saying it won't take 11-5 to get in the playoffs in the NFC, though, bc it might, and these potential tie-breaker games may very well be the difference.

But I've watched a lot of crazy things happen over the 2nd half of the season

Can't agree on the "ceiling".

I've seen a lot of quarterbacks run into buzzsaws early in their career. It happens a lot, and it really shouldn't come as a surprise. Heck, you could almost consider it a rite of passage.

What you want to see now is where they go from here. Some guys let the knockdown affect their whole trajectory. Others learn a lesson, pick themselves up and continue to improve.

I'm not convinced we can go 11-5 or 10-6.

Quit blaming the players. This loss is all on Ron. Let’s see what coaches get canned tomorrow

Kyle Allen throwing three interceptions and killing drives is not on Ron Rivera. I don't even like Ron. Sometimes its not about the Xs and Os but the Jimmy and Joes. They just outplayed us. We got an INT and four plays later we had to settle for a field goal. Players missing tackles isn't on coaching. You can teach a guy daily to wrap around the ball carrier and drive them to the ground but in real time if they don't want to tackle they won't.

Rivera isn't telling our offensive line please let their pass rush through. Rivera isn't telling our QBs when you see pressure don't throw the ball away or just take the sack right there, please flail around for four to five extra yards before going down because we don't need the yards. The coaches aren't telling the WRs to fall down on routes. Bill B is the greatest coach of all time in football and far more often then not he doesn't win the Super Bowl. Why? Sometimes the other teams playmakers make the plays. And it doesn't matter what you call. I don't care for the coaching staff either. I haven't liked most of our coordinators since Sean McD left to take the Bills job. But this is equally on the players as the coaches.

This same team with BB coaching would be 7-0
