Broke his ribs in 2014 against the Pats in preseason running as well and the shoulder was chasing down an interception but yes most of his big hits have been in the pocket.

foot also vs pats, but that could happen anytime. Moral of the story, dont play the fuging pats in the preseason....they treat it like a real game.

If Cam is healthy why wouldn’t you want him back? If he’s healthy and you still don’t want him to start because he might play badly against a solid defense then he definitely isn’t the guy either. We might as well start Grier for the rest of the year to see what he has if that’s the case.

I’m tired of being lie to. It’s either the coaches’ fault or Cam. And this last time we found out Cam was being dishonest and not letting his coaches know. And we don’t ever know the truth anymore. It’s like if Cam plays well then he is healthy. And if he plays poorly then it’s an injury not bc of Cam.

The expectation was always that Newton was going to get his job back when he was healthy. The question was always when would he be healthy (general belief right now is in two weeks).

There are a couple of things coming out of today that are pretty stupid though.

"This game proves that Kyle Allen was never good and never will be good."

No it doesn't. Allen had a bad game, but plenty of young quarterbacks have bad games. If you think giving up on a young quarterback the first time he has a bad game is a wise move, you're an idiot.

His full story isn't written yet. He could easily come back and look great next game or he could lose confidence and start to decline. We'll see.

"We could have won this game if we'd have had Cam Newton."

Wouldn't bet on that. This game was a total team failure. We couldn't block for sh-t and our defense was terrible. Best you can realistically say is we might have lost by fewer points.

I'm still not convinced that we're a good enough team to beat the real contenders no matter who's starting at quarterback.

And I still don't care who starts at quarterback as long as we win.

2015 Cam wouldn’t have won that game
