Why is most of the focus on Allens QB performance today?

Thank you! I just can’t understand why our QB has to be a racial conversation. We should as panther fans pull for our QB no matter who he is. Cam has not been Cam since before the TJ Watt hit. Physically and mentally. If he plays he is still my QB, go team. I can’t understand why some folks want to burn Kyle Allen at the steak because of a poor game against the leagues 2nd best defense.

Most rational fans seem to agree he ultimately looked like a backup against superior defensive talent in the 49ers. Though the offensive line was fairly absymal at times. Not much has changed there unfortunately. I haven't seen anyone trying to send Allen to the guillotine. Much of the discussion has been about how unprepared and sloppy the team looked overall, that and the defense which is supposed to be our identity getting thoroughly abused.

If anything I've seen Panthers fans as recently as the last few weeks gleefully littering "0-9" zingers about Cam, and strangely I don't recall seeing you rushing in to get upset about it like you are here.

So we praise him when the defense balls out but but don’t want him shitted on when the he shits the bed? Ok.

Well he's shown he's an effective game manager ala Trent Dilfer when the Bucs won the Super Bowl.  But we don't have the Bucs defense of that year.  But let me guess...you think Dilfer would've won that game?

This was a loss across the board.  Allen, The D, Special teams.

Yep. We got beat by a better team.

But, since Kyle's the starter, his play gets scrutinized the most, just like anyone else.

He's gotten plenty of praise being 4-0 behind a dominant defense and CMC.

He deserves criticism for some bad reads and throws today.  He didnt do enough for the offense to do their part. Couldnt sustain drives, and couldnt connect deep to prevent the Niners from selling out to stop the run.

The bigger take is that today IMO showed Allen's limitations and his ceiling. He is an awesome backup and maybe a competent starter when everything else around him is functioning like it should, but he can't carry the team.

That's the truth.

Hell I dont know that Brees at this point is able to consistently carry the Saints now. They are winning bc they are dominating in the trenches on both sides of the ball.

Not that many QBs truly can. A healthy Cam has been able to, as recently as last year.

Our offensive line for all its issues is probably just as good if not better than most of them in recent years.

It is more pronounced bc you don't have a QB like Cam back there masking it.

We need Cam back and back healthy soon to have any chance at sniffing the playoffs.

Our schedule is too tough. Pure and simple

because cam plays defense apparently

Neither does Allen, but some are putting this butt-stomping squarely on his shoulders.  Let's say Allen put up 50 points, guess what?  We still would have lost.  Team melt down, starting from the coaching staff all the way down to the water boy.

And you would be saying exactly what we are about Newton instead of Allen.. see how that works? Yall need to stop this " If it was Obama blah blah blah stuff" always talking in Ifs. IF If was a 5th we would all be drunk.

Anybody that would have put the blame on Newton playing behind that line today, I would have called an idiot.

And it wouldn't be the first time. I've called out plenty of bad OL performances before.

Allen was inaccurate and indecisive.  There were at least two sacks where he should have just thrown the ball away.  I don't blame him for the Bosa interception though, that was just a hell of a play.  But the others...

That being said, this was going to be a tough game.  Everything about it sucked.  Having to go on the road after a bye against a very good team..it was stacked against us.  We looked out of sync and a step behind.

That wasn't geared particularly at you. But at the way people who have already have their minds made up about a arguement. Most people who have their mind made up cant admit defeat or being wrong. They look for excuses to justify their original arguement. And I agree it was a top to bottom meltdown.

But just like when Kyle Allen was getting a lot of credit for being 4-0 and leading the team to victories he should get a lot of the blame for leading us to this defeat.

So what kinda game does it have to be to actually hold Allen accountable  how he plays? Only wins?

No you silly wabbit. SF was the better team today. Point blank, full stop, got our chicklets knocked out. Defense, offense, special teams. Hell, their specials teams didnt punt a kick back all game until the 4th qtr. That was designed. No accident there. We got spit roasted today.

We got the wins through defense and McCaffrey.  McCaffrey was good today but the defense poo the bed and when you have Trent Dilfer as your QB you're not doing yourself any favors.

You'd be indecisive too if a defender was within 6 inches of your receivers all day.

I suppose I’m rushing in because of the amount of posts in the main forum regarding the QB. The huddle is going to huddle, but the amount of discourse in this forum is at an all time high. I joined back in 2010 or so and I have never seen everyone here so divided. I completely agree with your view on the offensive line. Daley was questionable but played so why did Moton start at LT? Offensive line takes chemistry and time to gel. Kyle has had our number for awhile now so I didn’t expect a win. I did hate to see the refs control the game by taking away key plays and changing our average starting position. We sucked in all phases today against a team we will have to see again if we make the playoffs. However the debate about our QB is already getting old. I’m a fan of the team not a player.

I agree lol I was trying to be nice about it.. but yeah he was getting carried... propped up as some future savant and he's really just a backup.
