No one is going to defend Rivera's gameplanning in this game but how do we completely disregard what Rivera accomplished in helping lead this team to a 4-0 record with our backup qb primarily on the back of the defense that he is personally running? Almost every team lays at least one egg per season for one reason or the other. Is looking completely outclassed by an undefeated team on the road really the straw that broke the camel's back?

Rivera has looked great at times and looked terrible today (along with the entire team since we should maybe let the players share a little blame). Let's use the rest of the year to find out which of these trends holds truer.  Hopefully we get a healthy Cam soon and right the ship. But if this ends up being the start of the Panthers collapse and we end the year with a losing record, you'll hear no argument from me on whether we should make a change.

Ron’s a genius at beating mediocre teams

My opinion of Ron Rivera has long been that he's certainly capable of being a good coach, but not a great one. you hang on to him because you keep thinking maybe he'll make that next step, but he hasn't and I honestly don't believe he will.

At this point, I feel like we'r.e the significant other that keeps going back to someone who's repeatedly cheated on them because maybe they'll be faithful this time.

Said before, it's a shame because he's as nice a guy as you could ever find. But at some point, you've just gotta stop giving chances.

People will use the argument that if we let him go, another team would probably sign him before the season was over.  I agree with that statement and lots of those teams are poorly run that would sign him.  If I was desperate enough I probably would if I was a GM / Owner.  For us and the Panthers, well, IMHO he has worn his welcome out long ago.  We win in spite of Rivera, always have.

The problem I’ve had after all these years is....

1) B/c he’s a D minded coach we ALWAYS play to not lose. I want to see us play to WIN!

2) How is it EVERY game after a bye week or long time off we Lose? To add on, we ALWAYS look like we’ve never even practiced to play the team that is on the field.

3) Anytime we are on a National stage for a high profile game we seem to look unprofessional, unprepared and doing stupid stuff we seem to never do.

4) Why are we not making adjustments “in game” to stop the bleeding?

I like Ron as a human, just not as a Head Coach!

The issue is at least 70% of the Panthers losses under Rivera is unwatchable. They look like pure garbage, especially the defence. If the team lost a competitive match and was enjoyable to watch I'd have no issue.

However, the team ends up looking like complete fools on the field. I can't even imagine the Falcons current defence doing this badly against the 49ers.

McDermott made our run defence strong whilst using zone. Rivera's defence gives up easy rushing yards, teams are still constantly getting bigs plays even when the DB's are lining far away from the LOS.

Don't let the 4-0 win with Allen fool you, today the team looked pathetic. A good coach with lesser talent would never lose this badly.
