The sorry state of sports media

Ok.  I have a little rant here.  I was doing some work around the house today so I put on a podcast of a local panthers media website.  By 15 minutes into the podcast I was sitting there yelling at these idiots.

First off the one guys was talking about he watched some tape and it was obvious to him that Cam over the final 8 games of last year and the first 2 games of this year was such a better QB than Allen has been.  He even clarified that he was talking about the last 8 games of Cams career and not how he looked to begin the 2018 season.  Now let’s be clear.  Do I think a 100% Cam is better than Allen?  HELL YES!  But how Cam played at the end of last year and  against TB this year is not better than Allen.   I have no idea what he was watching.

Then they went on to describe the the 49er defense and were talking about how good the secondary was with Sherman and Witherspoon.  Witherspoon has been out for weeks?????   One of the guys did look at the injury report and he did notice Witherspoon didn’t practice this week and the said he might not play. Dude if you haven’t played in 3 weeks and you haven’t practiced at all this week there isn’t a chance in hell you are playing.  I’m a casual fan and can figure what’s going on with our next opponent. How is it the guys that actually do this for a living don’t have a fugging clue????

Here’s the point:  Just because you have the ability to put up a website and can get 2 of your buddies to sit down and do a podcast does not make you a viable sports media resource.  I’m tired of the 135lb. soaking wet guys with the athletic ability of a fuging toothpick who think they know something about athletic attributes of players and teams.  They should stick to analyzing cross country.

Bottom Line:  I will continue to give my clicks and support to guys like @ellis who spend a great deal of time paying attention to details and providing true quality content that is informative, educational, and entertaining.

Rant over.  Cheers.

Holy crap - that play call by Cutcliffe at the end of the UNC game is one of the worst decisions you will ever see. QB guru my ass lol.

I have a lot of respect for Cutcliffe but that was a disaster.  Still Mack Brown is really turning the culture already...can’t recall a more interesting UNC football season in a long time.

Welcome to the democratization of media. It has it's pros and it's cons. You've just encountered an undeniable con.

I have no idea who you’re talking about, but I appreciate your support. By the way, it’s time for me to do another podcast. Sorry for the delay on that. Been a busy few weeks.

You do a podcast?

Kidding dog...peace man

cheers is something you say celebrating something with a group of people over some drinks.. not when you are finished ranting over something isolated on an internet message board

Cheers is used in the United Kingdom like thanks.  Might be used down under the same way.

Have you ever heard someone say "cheers mate". Means thanks friend.

I was there one of the worst plays I ever seen! Hilarious. You should have seen what happened afterwards. Cutcliffe and AJ Blue almost went to blows
