Tom Brady in a Panthers uniform?

It makes sense if you think about it.

This is the 50th anniversary of the microwave oven.

Fort Bragg is located in North Carolina.

The Brady Bunch is shown in North Carolina.

Tom Brady's last name is also Brady, meaning that he could be named after an episode viewed in...wait for it......... North Carolina.

Tom Brady likes to Bragg at times.

He also uses microwave ovens.  The wave is something they do at football games.

See where this is going??

I think it's more likely that Vince Lombardi coaches the Panthers next year than it is that Tom Brady QBs the Panthers next year and Vince Lombardi has been dead for nearly 50 years now.

Well if we're going that route, I might rather go for Tom Landry.

Let's try to throw some logic into the speculative claim of this thread.

Of course it's all predicated on the possibility of Newton either going somewhere else or even retiring?............but assuming that might happen then would not Brady for at least one year be an ideal mentor for Allen as a pocket passing QB?

Brady could also help the Panther organization assess Allen's potential for the future and if it may be prudent to invest more in the kid while at the same time Brady gets to play one more year without feeling the weight of expectation of the past on his shoulders as in NE?

If we're going to indulge the idea of Brady leaving what's been an extremely profitable situation, you have to provide a motivating reason.

About the only one that would make sense would be personal feelings, pride or animosity of some sort.

With that being the case, you have to imagine he'd want to go somewhere where he could stick it to his old team.

The Panthers don't really provide that sort of opportunity.

Going after Brady would be an "all in on this year" kind of move.

I'm not a big fan of those.

Would it really necessarily be that though? Let’s say we trade Cam for draft picks, keep Kyle for the future (on ERFA tender which is roughly $600k) and then sign Brady to a contract similar to his in NE ($20-25M) for 1 year. Yes it would be a short term move but it wouldn’t at all jeopardize the future. I wouldn’t be a fan of it regardless though.

I know we're talking about Brady, but there's no way I'd want to pay that much for a guy his age on a short-term contract.

I completely agree. But if we did, it still wouldn’t jeopardize our future at all. That’s honestly no different than keeping Cam next year and letting him walk as a FA after that if, say, he gets the starting job back and doesn’t play any better than he did the 2nd half of last year and first 2 games this year.
