Did Cam’s dabs and grandiose celebrations lead to his downfall injury wise?

And the Superbowl before it.

And several games before and after it.

But yeah...aside from all the other games refs let it happen, it was just that one.

I don't recall any discussion of this during or after the superbowl.  My memory isn't perfect but seems this is getting muddled together. The head shot conversation began first game of 16

he obviously brought the headhunting on himself to some degree through his behavior on the field.   rivera should have put a stop to the whole teams antics in '15.  he played in the league.  he knew what would happen.  he didn't.  but the D is always gonna try and take the best players out hard if that will sabotage the whole O.   sportsmanship used to be a focus, to not engender these types of feelings from the opposition.

The cam haters love discounting everything about him

poo like this here is ruining this forum. This is a discussion of facts and trying to sort them out. If you can't deal with factual discussion go to the TInderbox and stay there.

To be fair, Rivera played on a team that did a whole music video bragging about how good they were.

he also played on a team that would have tried to kill any qb regardless, and specially if that qb had been stunting on people.   and he had a qb who liked acid.

Most of the fans that continually want to drag this rotting carcass that is the endless negative circular discussion about Cam Newton seem to be in the 40-50 range age wise. Seems like the kind of group you'd find at a Trump rally.

oh jesus get out of here with your bs.

This entire board would hate Cam if he was on another team whooping our ass and showboating. But he’s not so we root for him. He’s a competitor and players get hurt in football. Let Cam be Cam, you have to let him compete his way in my opinion. If it lights a fire under other players to stop him so be it.

As far as cheap shots and dirty hits they’re all part of the game and are the refs job to officiate.

It's the old thing about your kids and other people's kids. Everybody here hated Roman Harper too, until we signed him of course.

I would say this. Jim McMahon was way more dislikable than Newton will ever be.

Newton might be a bit of a showoff, but McMahon was an a--hole.

    • Might as well declare this front office regime dead if that's the case.  There is no reason that should happen.
    • Well unfortunately nothing to us. But he has been giving to the rest of the league. He's been so bad he was getting opposing defenders all kinds of accolades and salary increases. Now though he's taking back. You can't lose to a Bryce Young led offense and not expect swift ramifications ya know?
    • Full disclosure I responded to this before fully reading the whole post. As if I had, I’d have laughed at you saying you haven’t seen a full route tree from him, as that’s EXACTLY what he has in his bag.  That right there just shows you haven’t watched him at all outside of the downfield highlight reel plays.  He already runs a full NFL level route tree, at all 3 levels.  As I’ve said numerous times before, XL is the big bodied possession guy, while T-Mac would be the true outside #1 who can do it all and a perfect compliment to XL.   Want to draft someone else all you want, that’s totally fair.  But don’t try and say he’s just a big bodied WR who lacks quickness and can’t run a full route tree, as it’s just the furthest thing from the truth.     And it’s okay, after you watch some more clips, you can admit that you were wrong and I’m not showing my own bias towards him.  It’s not like I’m advocating for someone who should be a late 1st rounder or even a mid 1st round pick, this is someone who’s been mocked as high as #2 by a lot of experts lately. The kid is a stud and he has every tool in his bag that you’d want an outside #1 to have.
