Did Cam’s dabs and grandiose celebrations lead to his downfall injury wise?

When it comes to the Panthers and speculative topics, we are all idiots.  Move on.

Cam is HATED around the league. When fans see Cam get drilled, they erupt in approval.  Players feed off that deafening roar. They hate Cam too.  When you see defenders mocking his dabs and Superman gestures after a sack or a pick, do you think that stuff was NOT motivation for the week?  I would rather face a good football player than a good motivated player.

So there is something to this.  Why do teams tiptoe around insulting their opponent that week?  Why do teams keep bulletin boards in the locker room?  Is it reasonable to see these acts as mocking?  Belittling?  I do.

One thing that has been apparent over the years is it really seems like Cam brings out something in opposing defenders that other QBs don’t. It always seems like when opposing defenders hit or sack Cam, they do it with an agenda and with intensity other QBs just don’t experience.

I think back to alll the times other defenders have mocked his Superman pose and dabs when they sack him. Then the Titans game a few years back when he got in the defender’s face after a TD and rubbed it in.

Or the Bucs game where he slowed down and held out the ball before he reached the end zone in a taunting manner. It’s almost like players see that and it’s frowned upon so they make sure to go extra hard after Cam and “humble” him.

Look at the sacks Kyle Allen has taken so far, just very light, garden variety sacks, definitley not with the same force and aggressiveness as with Cam.

I don't think it has anything to do with how he acts.  Its his size!!!  The man, before losing 30 lbs thanks to veggies, was a monster.  You could not walk up to Cam and lay a finger on him and he just fall over like Ryan.  They hit him hard and often because you have to.

Look dude, football is a game where people get hurt.

People who celebrate and showboat get hurt.

People who are quiet and never draw attention to themselves get hurt.

People just get hurt.

Quarterbacks definitely get hurt because there's always somebody trying to knock them out of the game.

That's how it is.

    • Might as well declare this front office regime dead if that's the case.  There is no reason that should happen.
    • Well unfortunately nothing to us. But he has been giving to the rest of the league. He's been so bad he was getting opposing defenders all kinds of accolades and salary increases. Now though he's taking back. You can't lose to a Bryce Young led offense and not expect swift ramifications ya know?
    • Full disclosure I responded to this before fully reading the whole post. As if I had, I’d have laughed at you saying you haven’t seen a full route tree from him, as that’s EXACTLY what he has in his bag.  That right there just shows you haven’t watched him at all outside of the downfield highlight reel plays.  He already runs a full NFL level route tree, at all 3 levels.  As I’ve said numerous times before, XL is the big bodied possession guy, while T-Mac would be the true outside #1 who can do it all and a perfect compliment to XL.   Want to draft someone else all you want, that’s totally fair.  But don’t try and say he’s just a big bodied WR who lacks quickness and can’t run a full route tree, as it’s just the furthest thing from the truth.     And it’s okay, after you watch some more clips, you can admit that you were wrong and I’m not showing my own bias towards him.  It’s not like I’m advocating for someone who should be a late 1st rounder or even a mid 1st round pick, this is someone who’s been mocked as high as #2 by a lot of experts lately. The kid is a stud and he has every tool in his bag that you’d want an outside #1 to have.
