Plenty of teams interested in Newton trade...

These kinds of threads come off as incredibly insecure...like you need some outside source to validate that Cam is a good QB or something. Rushing to post any halfway flattering article about Cam to say “see! I told you he’s good!” is a disservice if anything, to a highly decorated QB like Cam.

Not to mention the flaw in your premise if you want to tie a player’s ability to his compensation. What if we found out all these teams that are interested in trading for him, wanna offer a maximum of a 4th round pick? Would that make you suddenly think “Woah maybe he’s not a good QB”? These articles don’t indicate what teams are inclined to offer for him.

I said the Panthers  themselves probably dont want to get rid of Newton but your living a very shelter lifestyle if you dont think a large portion of the fanbase doesnt want to move on from Newton. If I'm estimating and this is just me looking at comments here and beyond I was say its at least in the 30-40% range. That's why I said a large portion. Not is one 100% accurate like my estimate but if you look even around here the answers are out there.

Judging anything by internet comments is generally a bad idea.

I like Freeman but he is more of a writer than an insider.

Granted.

In his previous article (where he talked about the possibility of Newton not getting his job back) Freeman said he had spoken to people inside the Panthers building. While obviously anybody can say that, two other reporters have said the same thing.

The prior article didn't allude to the possibility of trading him, at least not that I can recall.

There’s a lot of people inside the building, for what it’s worth. That could mean just about anybody, including anonymous player or scout. Using “people inside the building” as a source hardly brings a story to a credible place. And I like Mike, I really do. I enjoy his work.

some people are talking 3.  Hell, I probably would trade Luke for 3 first rounders.

That ain’t Cam hate at that point.

I have also spoken to people inside the Panthers building. When security asks you to leave the premises, the conversation doesn't tell you much about the team's trade intentions, but it does have a certain sense of immediacy.

Articles like this are also garbage.  Hey I asked teams in need of a QB if they would be interested in a former MVP if he was available....and they said yes!

That isn’t Carolina looking trade Cam nor is it teams calling

Understood.

However, here's the key....you are part of a small handful of folks who are mature enough to evaluate the situation on an unemotional and arms length basis, and, are willing to trade Cam if an appropriate offer is made...

...you as an isolated example are in no way indicative of or constitute "a large portion of the fan base (who) wants to" trade Cam at any cost.

That's simply #FakeNews.

Yeah, there's at at least fifty articles every year around the trade deadline talking about who could be traded where, generally none of them based on anything more than speculation.

Ron Rivera mentioned that when the rumor of the Panthers being interested in Emmanuel Sanders broke, he was fishing.

I think you are making up stats as you go. A “Large portion of our fan base” lacks any actual evidence or fact. I bet if there was a poll of all actual fans less than 10% would say they want to see cam traded, and that in my opinion is being entirely generous.

I clearly said my estimation was just based off a guess.. numbers not bring 100% accurate but your going to leave that out to validate your arguement. The number is definitely higher than 10% tho.

I would take a first and a second this year, a second next year for Newton/

This QB draft is rich.

We have Kyle and a developing Rookie.

Cam might be starting a decline at the same time he will be asking for his biggest contract.

Id do it--

You are being very simple. The 2 first rounders is a no brainer.. I am clearly Cams largest supporter but for 2 first rounders I say he can go. Largely I dout that happens. If it were to happen today i dout we would even get a 3rd. And if we are talking 4 and back..  well those players aren't guaranteed to even make the roster. Stop screaming fake news because you dont agree with the perspective.
