Plenty of teams interested in Newton trade...

It's all good. I'm never going to miss an opportunity to post a Dumb & Dumber gif, so thanks for that!

I was meeting an old girlfriend's parents for the first time right about when that movie came out on video.

They hadn't seen it but had bought it and were playing it in the background as we were having a "get acquainted" dinner.

In the middle of me trying to impress this girl's parents, it gets to the toilet scene.

Bad memories...

Not sure why people act like that is the decision.  Keep both (pending Cam back and proves he is healthy).  Cam is your starter and Kyle your backup.  Pay Kyle well for a backup.  I mean that is a thing.  He likely would take IMO because it is obvious Cam Newton and we need a backup QB.   I mean he pretty much would know if he got this same chance again it would then be his position to lose at that point.

I love having both on the team. And for the time being it is still feasible. But...sooner or later...we will have to choose one over the other. At some point, Kyle is going to want to get paid. THAT is when we have to decide. Until then? Yeah, having both is a really good thing.

You have to realize that teams are watching this. And if Cam returns to form. They will start calling. Hopefully, the powers that be will have already mapped out their strategy. Because it IS going to get interesting up in here.

When the time comes for the FO to make their decision for either Cam, or Kyle. Man, that is going to be some shite right there.

Edit to add. Kyle MAY be happy being Cams' backup at this point in time. But that will not last forever. He is going to want to spread his wings sooner or later.

The first time I met my wife's dad (and sister) was the night of UNC's triple OT basketball loss to Wake Forest back in '03 when WFU was actually still relevant. We were supposed to meet him and her sister for dinner that night. The time was arranged and I had plenty of time to watch the game. Well, any normal game that is. UNC just went absolutely ice cold down the stretch from the free throw line and it ended up costing them the game. Anyway, as the game went on, my wife let them know we might be running a bit late so they just said to let them know when we left and they'd meet us. Cool. The game went on. Future FIL drew impatient so decided to just come over and see WTF was going on. Now, keep in mind. I'm 21 years old at the time, I'm watching my team piss away a nail biter in multiple overtimes, I've had a few beers, and I am PISSED. He still gives me poo about that night. When they walked in we're right in the middle of building a brick house from the FT line and I'm on the couch slapping the floor like it owes me money cussing about this shitastic FT shooting I'm watching.

I'm a Carolina Panther fan.

First, I would love to Cam make a full return. He's a great talent that has yet to see his ceiling as far as what he is capable of. I'd love to see that.

If the Panthers chose to move on, it wouldn't be a mistake. It's called moving on. Franchises do it all the time. There is a reason why teams should groom qbs, as you never know when you'll need them to step up.

The evidence is there, that this team is capable of.moving on from Cam, if that is what has to be done.  They won't make that decision prematurely.

I don’t see enough evidence to come to that conclusion just yet, like I’ve been preaching, 5 games total is not enough.

im a panthers fan also, I don’t want this franchise making the same mistakes I’ve seen numerous other franchise make because of outside noise or the media.

the simplest and most logical from my standpoint, is when cam is healthy you start him, if he re injures himself or flops his first 2-3 games back, that’s it, let the Kyle Allen era begin, no more indecision nothing nada.

Heh :)

I actually met my wife's entire (large) family in one day at a family function. Her dad was supposed to be kind of a hard-ass, and I was young and stupid. She was majorly nervous about the whole thing.

We get to the family picnic, her dad sees her and says "How about a hug?"

Before she can do anything, I say "sure" and throw my arms around him.

I'm not sure the words to properly  describe the look on her face exist :)

I'm fine with Cam starting IF he is going to be a running threat.  And I don't mean doing stupid things while running with the ball but he needs to be able to truck people on occasion.  If he can't do that then I am hoping Allen can keep playing like he has.

At the same time, I don't see taking Allen out until he loses at least ONE game.   I don't see how anyone can argue that.
