Plenty of teams interested in Newton trade...

This. I think it's just an understanding that no team is willing to give up what it would take for us to part with Allen right now based on only a five game sample size. He's very valuable to us right now given the uncertainty around Cam so a team would have to come with a hefty offer to get us to even listen.

Cam is not !00%. The trade deadline is Tues. There will be no trade this year.

If Kyle continues to win games. AND Cam gets healthy. THEN this offseason, we will have some hard decisions to make.

Of course this is all contingent on Kyles' on field play.

Seems like an easy decision.

Sign Kyle to a good backup deal.

Sign Cam to a very good but not extremely long deal.

I mean, is that what every team dreams of? Not to have to worry about the QB spot?

You really think negotiating with Newton's agent is gonna be that easy?

And how many times have we watched Cam throw it at their feet only 5 yards out?  Or how about throw it over their head?  I love Cam but you need to stop your post are making you look silly.  Everyone knows that Cam Newton is not now, was not when he came into the league and will never been a GREAT passer.  He does (did) many other great things but if I were you I would not be comparing Cam Newtons passing to anyone else.  Even in years where he passer ratting was good to decent YAC was low because receivers had to jump for the ball or slide to catch it.  By the way some of Allens best throws were deeper routes and the ball was just dropped.  I'm beginning to think you are just trolling.

This is wrong on so many levels. Cam accuracy was getting better. Part of the problem was Shula and not really Cam. Long developing plays and Cam is trying to fit it in tight windows while pressure is in his face. Norv came in last year and his accuracy went up. Yes he has been using his check down but all QBs do. Injuries have plagued cam since pittsburgh. And the chance he has to show his arm is good and he is actually good health his foot messes up. Then starts the season with a bum foot. If Cam can actually get healthy and settle in, he will be dynamic for this team. I believe his shoulder is good. Some of the throws he made against the Rams with a bum foot were accurate. Others you can see clearly he had some problem when it came to the pushing and adding that extra distance off his foot.

I am extremely happy with this situation. I am also extremely happy I don't have to make this decision.

A HEALTHY Cam. You would have to pry him from my cold dead hands.

Kyle? Best case. He is a great backup, with starter potential. Worst case. He is just a flash in the pan. Maybe he is just a good backup.

How Kyle plays going forward will probably do nothing to ease this decision. But sooner or later. We will have to pick one.

That is where folks are getting euphoric. What can we get for the QB we don't keep?

Not sure why people act like that is the decision.  Keep both (pending Cam back and proves he is healthy).  Cam is your starter and Kyle your backup.  Pay Kyle well for a backup.  I mean that is a thing.  He likely would take IMO because it is obvious Cam Newton and we need a backup QB.   I mean he pretty much would know if he got this same chance again it would then be his position to lose at that point.

I was merely speaking about the ideal scenario.

I mean, Cam could position himself where it doesn't make sense for Carolina to sign him as their guy. But that would be Cam and his team making that decision.  I mean, you can't offer Cam some crazy big/long deal coming off two years of injury (with his style of play, age, hits taken factoring)…..so if they demand that then his future could be in jeopardy.

But if Cam comes back healthy, we should do everything within reason to make him our guy.

Only if you believe he's going to stay healthy for a long time, and that's a huge "if".

That, plus his age and expected salary cap hit are going to be working against him.

Here is my thing with the whole Cam is injury prone arguement. I dont believe his body is all of a sudden any more fragile than it always has been. The shoulder injury was a big one. Big enough it took luck out of commission for what nearly 2 years? Cam chose to play through it without the wait time and it showed. The time table of that first shoulder injury if were looking at luck was around the same amount of time.

Basing any amount of blame on him losing games because clearly he is injuried and the whole world knew it is crazy. We all knew how long it would take the should to be usable. Not saying it will ever be what it use to be. I FIRMLY believe he lost some of his fast pitch and deep ball.that will never recover. That said we haven't really seen how much of that that is left is..

The foot injury is what it is.. a random freak accident some 300 pound guy fell on his foot could happen to anybody.. If it had been Allen and the same guy fell on his foot the same way he fell on Cams I'm getting he would be injuried as well. Doesnt mean hes anymore fragile or injury prone than the next. I'm glad we have Allen guiding the ship. That said I'm staying pat on Newton until I know more about what I have in Allen and what I do or dont have in Newton. This franchise can't afford to just let a guy of his caliber walk because we didn't check under the mattress.
