Plenty of teams interested in Newton trade...

As far as the playbook goes? Based on Ron’s comments? Based on this dude being wide open in some prior games and our opponent?

My prediction is we see more Ian Thomas this week than we have to date. Norv flipping to some some of those pages

Pretty sure a lot of people would welcome that.

This.

By the way, the Buccaneers did good work shutting McCaffrey down in London. It still didn’t stop Carolina from scoring 37 points. And it didn’t lead to a wealth of takeaways against Allen.

The defense created a ton of momentum with turnovers, and Kyle made good reads, throws and decisions against what is still a very good defense.

You would like to see more production off seven turnovers, but again, Tampa’s defense is solid.

Yep.

The 49ers defense is believed to be even more solid, though some people discount that based on the teams they've faced so far.

I'm not one of those people.

I think this weekend is going to be a pretty tough game. Their run game against our run defense concerns me too.

there is literally nothing about the position that allen does better than cam.

I'm a HUGE Cam fan who thinks he should be back on the field as soon as he's 100% and I can admit that Allen does a better job of throwing with anticipation on timing routes.

Why can't you just go back to the TB since you're completely incapable of having a thought that isn't heavily biased by your social and political viewpoints? Your bullshit just further encourages the equally idiotic posters on the other side of the spectrum.

I'd add game management and hitting receivers in stride as advantages (significantly so on the former) though you may be saying the same thing with different words when you're talking about throwing with anticipation.

Receivers would likely tell you he throws a more catchable pass as well. But then that's always been a thing with fireball throwers (Favre, for example).

Hitting receivers in stride isn't important though....cause it means you are throwing balls that are placed properly.. Again.. I guess that doesn't matter.

If only in the first Tampa game 5 more receivers were hit in stride, we win easily.

I  know nothing about football though and clearly only have other reasons.. *eyeroll*

Oh, it's extremely important.

Wait... You're being sarcastic, aren't you?

(took me a second) :)

Even with a gimpy Cam on the field those first two games, I think we're probably undefeated right now had Little/Daley been manning the LT spot from day one.

I never really thought we'd beat the Rams, even when it was believed that Newton was healthy.

I definitely believed we'd beat the Bucs. That one was disappointing.

We should have won that one...

That games irks the hell outta me.

4th and a half yard to go for the first and we cant qb sneak with the game on the line. I understand you don't wanna run Cam but he did rush twice in that game (one of which "should" have been a first down but wasn't particularly because to the ref's spotting).

Yes, I remember that game well...Barrett took Williams to school on that left side (3 sacks, 1 hit, 4 hurries).

Disappointing indeed.

i would hope an nfl quarterback could hit his receiver in stride when he's only throwing the ball 5 yards. his depth of target, especially on completed passes, has not been good. he's being asked to do very little because he simply isn't good enough to do more. this is only a controversial statement to those with non-football motives. comparing allen to a guy like cam is not only insulting to fans of the sport but it does a tremendous disservice to allen.

And how many times have we watched Cam throw it at their feet only 5 yards out?  Or how about throw it over their head?  I love Cam but you need to stop your post are making you look silly.  Everyone knows that Cam Newton is not now, was not when he came into the league and will never been a GREAT passer.  He does (did) many other great things but if I were you I would not be comparing Cam Newtons passing to anyone else.  Even in years where he passer ratting was good to decent YAC was low because receivers had to jump for the ball or slide to catch it.  By the way some of Allens best throws were deeper routes and the ball was just dropped.  I'm beginning to think you are just trolling.

The final play call in the Tampa game still pisses me off.

I didn't have a problem going with McCaffrey, but I can't believe they thought anybody was gonna be fooled by Newton drifting out to the right. Bowles knew Cam couldn't do it. He's been showing that he knew it all game.

if you were gonna try something cute, fake it to McCaffrey and give it to Alex Armah there.
