Not after the trade deadline. After the trade deadline everyone goes through waivers regardless of status.

This is NE way of putting him on the trading block for those teams lower down on the waiver claim list. It’s possible a team will offer a 7th, or even a conditional 6th.  NE is the king of getting something for nothing.

Before the trade deadline, yes.

After week 8 (trade deadline) they are required to go through waiver wire.

Gordon from what I have read is a bad risk. If the Patriots can't straighten him out, what makes you think we can.

One possibility: Maybe they didn't keep him clean, and they know it's gonna show up on a test.

Doubt anybody would put it past the Patriots to sit on that kind of information.

maybe they let him go for the same reason they parted with all the other older big name WRs they brought in...that didn’t work out.
