Its funny to me that even Smitty when he came here to play that he had animosity towards our front office and balled out. Reid has just always played good. Im a black male and not a police officer lol. I like Reid and was happy as heck when we signed him. But I know his emotions can get the best of him. McCoy on the other hand is more kind then Reid. Never have I seen McCoy get fined for a hit or receive a penalty for a late hit. Ive seen Reid hit late when didnt have to and cost us touchdowns when we couldve had the ball back. Those plays impact the game. So Im saying beware because the mentality of playing with that chip on the shoulder could go well but with too much intensity it can turn a 3 and out to 7pts and we all know how that can impact a game.

Already addressed it. Not trying to turn this into a tinderbox thread and I’ve realized it’s not worth going back and forth. People don’t like to discuss, everything twisted into an pointless argument so my bad.

As for the topic, if anything I don’t see any reason why Reid will cost the game for us. He’s not a dirty player. If anything I think he’ll help us win this one and I’m glad he’s playing with a chip on his shoulder.

My take on Reid is that I think some of the anger he had for obvious reasons caused him last year to play with less control. He was at times clearly not a man in control of his emotions. I suspect that over time our locker room has had a calming effect on him. He seems more disciplined and less volatile so far this year.

I was also excited when we signed him because it was a unique opportunity to acquire a Pro Bowl caliber player in his prime at a position of need without giving up anything. How many times do you get that chance?

I see where your concerns are coming from because at one point they worried me too. I am optimistic our stable locker room has helped him move past that to become more of a leader and less of a hothead. I hope to only see good things from him the rest of the year except that I do have to agree with Mr Scot that his tackling form sometimes leaves something to be desired.

I think that would be doubly unfortunate because it would become fodder for those whose dislike of Reid stems not from football but from politics.
