In today's NFL you're playing 3 CBs more often than not. I expect Cockrell to slide over to the nickel.

I wouldn't just plug him there, all things considered. I think based on the game plan DJ, and Ross will both move around based on match ups, considering the addition I think we'll see a good bit of DJ on Goodwin, and Bradberry & Ross on the other two receivers vs Sanders, Deebo, and Bourne.

Kittle is their leading threat by a LARGE margin -- https://www.espn.com/nfl/team/stats/_/name/sf/san-francisco-49ers

With our depth at LB, and versatility at S, I think we can limit him, because you look at the rest of that receiver group you have to wonder who's going to make the plays, Sanders is also back after an achilles tear last season. Not to say he isn't a threat but it may be a little early to say he's still the same player.

Targets

Kittle - 42

Deebo - 22

Pass vs Rush Attempts

Pass - 167

Rush - 178

Breida & Mostert both at (5.5 / 5.6 ypc)

If we're able to contain the run game, and keep Kyle up right we have a good chance, a lot of their offense similar to us is a great rushing attack, and relentless pressure on the QB.

I'm looking for a similar game to us vs Houston.

We like having a big/Buffalo Nickel.  Somebody who doesn't have to come off the field on a rushing down or can step into the box and make a tackle if they were thinking pass and its a run.

Keep DJ on the outside.  He earned his job.  Ross is a pro let him fit where he's needed.  He thrives in that role.
