This might help the 9ers for weeks 10-17 but for this week idk.  If they really wanted to get him to play against us they should have got him last week and given him at least 1 week to get some kind of timing down with special needs jimmy GIF by South Park

I know what the quote says, but I have trouble believing it framed that way.

I'm sure they wanted him now to get started as quickly as possible, but I doubt the thinking was "we need him now because we have no chance to beat the Panthers without him".

Much more likely is that they play on Thursday Night next week so if they waiting till next week he likely wouldn't get on the field for three more weeks.

Its similar to what they said RE: Staley...they wanted to get him on the practice field this week because it would be difficult if they waited till next week on the short week.

My guess BTW, is that Staley still doesn't play.

I wasn’t implying you were.  Just think there will be a lot risk trying to do that much with Sanders this week.

I’m sure y’all will work in a screen, some easy stuff for him just to start the process of working him in.

Beating y’all is going to come down to stopping the run and limiting Kittle in terms of your offense

Both teams want the exact same thing.  The lead.  Whoever gets a slightly decent one is going to be in the driver seat

Well, in your favor, run game hasn't been the same since McGlinchey and Juszczyk were hurt. Teams stacking against the run and making Jimmy pass...which by itself isn't so bad a thing, but he's also trying to get the ball out FAST so he doesn't get killed with their 4th and 5th tackles in the game.

If Staley is back, it'll be HUGE. That would get their LT back and Skule can move over to RT and get Brunskill off the field. Much easier to chip and help on one side than on both simultaneously.

Offense has really been entirely predicated on running even against a stacked box, and getting the ball out fast. Where Jimmy is deadly is intermediate ranges and they simply haven't had time for those things to develop.

That's why this game makes me nervous. That pass rush. Shanahan has been able to scheme brilliantly to protect those guys, but my concern is this mught be a bridge too far without their starting tackles.

As for defense, Niners have been ridiculous. I mean like totally sustainability ludicrous.

In the past three weeks they have allowed 176 yards passing. Total. 15 of those yards were a pass from OBJ to Beckham. While they haven't gotten as many sacks as the Panthers (I read in 1 fewer game by someone, thats incorrect...Niners had bye in week 4), the pressure has been insane.

Kwon Alexander has been a godsend at LB.

Should be alot of fun.

Well I think you got to throw the Washington game out the window.

I think both teams are really pretty comparable.   We get to the QB more in terms of sacks and hit because we have faced more passing downs.  I do think your yardage allowed is aided by your schedule.  But I think both defenses are equally problematic.

I only give us the edge frankly because I think offensively we are simply slightly better and that it will be the difference.

CMC is just having a special year...while you got a great front....I don’t see you shutting down CMC.  And if you devote enough resources to do it (which would be too much)....we have 2 great playmakers lined up at WR that essentially are RBs with the ball in their hands that we can use to take advantage of going full cray cray on CMC.

Knee jerk reaction after they lost out on Sanu. You know Shanahan wanted him bad. Now they're scrambling.

uh...doubt it.

I know they liked Sanu but they don't even have a 2nd round pick. Were never going that high.

Sanders to SF tho has been rumored for some time. Shanahan is on the record loving the guy since last year.

Cannt believe this and Sanu where traded for good draft picks...

Personally I didnt want the panthers to invest mid-round draft captial for any WR not named Green. Sanders is coming off an Achilles injury too, yikes at these draft picks.

According to draft peeps, this is a heavy WR draft too. HOOOOOOLLLLD Hurney HOOOOOOOOOLLLLLLLDD!!!

A 32 year old receiver that hasn't had a 1000 yard season in 3 years for 2 picks and he isn't a 1 or even a 2 on most teams?

If you say so my guy.

Good luck this weekend though Bosa is a stud and I'm sick of Russell Wilson running the west.

Fair on Washington, but they allowed 126 to the Browns and Rams.

Don't expect anything crazy to stop CMC.

In the past two games they have allowed the opposing team to run right down the field. They make an adjustment (not an extra man, usually an alignment or a different DT), and then its lights out for most of the rest of the game.

No, I'm not expecting that with CMC. I know him well. He played at Stanford just up the road. I can all but guarantee the Niners WILL NOT shut him down completely.

Niners will rush 4, seldom blitz, and count on the rush to get there just as it has all season, and sit back with 7 in coverage. They'll bend but not break in the run game, or at least that'll be the plan.

The Niners LBs (Alexander and Warner) have been excellent.

I will say this...I've been on SEVERAL boards this year. Every single weak I read almost exactly word for word what I read here...."they haven't played anyone, this week will be different. They haven't seen XYZ". Vs Browns is was about Chubb, OBJ and Landry.

And then gameday comes and they are shocked.

I'm not going to go so far as to predict that, especially with as many players out as they'll have, but I have seen this happen week after week this year. Ya'll could be right and the Niners get smacked around, but I think some might be underestimating them. Its all good tho.

Should be fun. I'll be i the building.  :)

...and Sanu has NEVER had more than 838 yards or been a #1.

Its effectively probably a low 3rd round pick. The 4th is likely low and the 5 they get back is likely high, so not that much of a drop.

If you apply football acumen you would realize it is only a 3rd, and likely moving back 10-12 spots for the other pick. Plus if they let him walk at the end of the season they will get a compensatory pick, which will likely be the case because we wont be active in free agency given we are stacked at most positions, will smoke you on Sunday and will go to Miami.

uh...I wouldn't go that far. lol.

Sunday will be a tough test and I am nowhere close to discussing Miami in Feb. This is where the tough part of the schedule begins.
