49ers Fans Seem Very Confident

Well y’all are a nightmare.   Will be curious to see if that thumb impacts Brees when he returns.

Only positive (well double edged sword)....is Brees and Payton have always gotten greedy in games.  Brees has gotten better but he will still play risky football at times.  Which is why Carolina has at least done better vs Brees historically than anyone else in the division.  He barely has a career winning vs Carolina.  Close enough we could make it .500.

But Saints are though.  HOF QB. Top 3 WR and Top 3 RB.   Pair that with a good D? Just tough

Cheers, my dude.

I’m certainly intrigued by y’all defensive front this year. They’ve played very well with a lot of young bodies and I’m wondering if the “rookie wall” will start to come into play by our first game and definitely by our second.

And indeed, I’m torn on if I want Brees to try to play this week or not. On one hand, I’d really like him to get a game in against a beatable opponent to knock some of the rust off before we start our divisional slate with Atlanta in a few weeks (arguably the most important stretch of our schedule considering y’all are keeping pace with us).

While on the other hand, with how our team has been chugging along with Bridgewater, it may be more beneficial for Brees to sit one more game, make it through the bye which is another week of recovery, and then unleash all hell on that piss poor Falcons defense.

There was a video circulating of a demonstration of the surgery Brees had where it showed the doctor installing the anchors and “replacement tendon” and showing how solid the connection is once attached by stretching and moving the thumb through it’s range of mobility. But if Brees feels he can perform without it hindering him, he’s going to lace ‘em up. I know he’s done the rehab work diligently and he knows his body better than anyone so I’ll trust him.

Jake was always suspect that year.

But I would have bet a poo ton of the Panthers beating the Broncos in 2015.  Good thing I don't gamble on games.

I was the reverse. I had a really bad feeling about the Super Bowl going in.

I even told my then-wife before the game that if we lose it would be because of 58. I hated the premonition and then watching it play out. Sickening.

Yeah same. I was all over this message board saying the only way we lose the game is if Von goes off. Well he did...it was like watching my own personal nightmare.

i had to reevaluate my fandom after that game. It made me so upset I felt depressed for two weeks. Pathetic. I won’t ever get that high about football ever again.

"Panthers fans on reddit and their message boards are still saying the Niners are overrated, though some are now concerned that mastermind Shanny has another weapon with Sanders."

I'm much more worried about Shanahan's game plan and running game.  If we can stop their run, score some point and make them one dimensional, then we can win.  Luke and Shaq are an excellent duo of LBs, but if we get caught by the play action, it's going to be a big play regardless.  That seems to be the key behind shanahan's game plans: run the ball from multiple looks, and then kill you with play action and let George Kittle make plays.  Nothing wrong with that game plan.  It's worked very well.

This is going to be a challenging game for us, and a real test for the 49ers.  We'll be able to sus out the pretenders after this game.

Panthers have a massive edge in coaching staff experience. To win this game, the Panthers will have to out-coach the 49ers. Agreed that this game will determine if the Panthers have a playoff contender, or a fringe wildcard/non-playoff team.

I'm still banned from the 49ers subreddit from after the time we beat them in 2013. 49ers fans were such cocky little shits before that game and I didn't hide my excitement that the Panthers won. That game turned the tide from being a bad team to a good team in Rivera's tenure as coach.

Reading their message boards, they are cocky and confident lot. Which being 6-0 I guess rightfully so, although it has been against fairly weak competition.

I see a reality check incoming for them.

A cocky 49's fan comment like this one.

"Anyone else peak at the Panthers message boards? Good lord they are a confident bunch. They are on a winning streak and feel like their running game, pass rush, and new QB are unstoppable. This game will be a real test for the Niners, but man, their fans are something else."

The funny part is that Niner fans actually think Sanders is “gameplay” worthy.

Fairly weak competition? They have played no one....easiest schedule in the nfl.

Go read the CBS article about that.  The journalist said (rightfully so) that 90% of the teams in the league would be 6-0 with their schedule.
