That was a slobber knocker, Tolbert and Davis both knocked players out of the game IIRC

Yeah, those games were vintage old school football at its finest.

Ignoring the fact it featured two guys running college zone read

And tbh now that I think about it, it’s Eric Reid’s homecoming of sorts, playing against his old team in their stadium.  Hopefully he’ll play with an extra chip on his shoulder.  We can use any advantage we can get against these guys

Our biggest weakness right now IMO is our run defense. They're the #2 rushing offense in the NFL at 172ypg and would be #1 virtually any other season except for the Ravens off to an unprecedented start.

They are only 12th in the league in YPC though.  We're actually even better at 5th.

Don't get me wrong, their rushing offense is still very good.  But I don't think it's good enough to make up for their lackluster passing offense vs a good defense.  The last 2 weeks they have scored a combined 29 points against the 2 best defenses they've played to this point IMO.

My biggest concern is can our offense do anything at all vs their defense?

Well y’all are a nightmare.   Will be curious to see if that thumb impacts Brees when he returns.

Only positive (well double edged sword)....is Brees and Payton have always gotten greedy in games.  Brees has gotten better but he will still play risky football at times.  Which is why Carolina has at least done better vs Brees historically than anyone else in the division.  He barely has a career winning vs Carolina.  Close enough we could make it .500.

But Saints are though.  HOF QB. Top 3 WR and Top 3 RB.   Pair that with a good D? Just tough

I can't really blame them for being confident. The 9ers have a swag, they are home. It's their game to lose and they have been great and winning ugly. Either way, they have the advantage.

Here's where it gets interesting though. Carolina plays soooo much better away and in the role of the underdog. So I don't think this will be a blow out by any means by either team. It's going to be a tough gritty close game. Not a low scoring one though. I feel believe they will score and well as the Panthers. Depending on the mistakes, who ever capitalizes on them the most, that will be the deciding factor.

Jimmy G can run and Allen is mobile. I think it comes down to game planning, execution, and capitalizing on the turn overs.

I'm not sure who's gonna win. But it will be a 3 point game.

Ron needs to play to win...no foot off the gas...we saw it starting to happen against the Bucs

...a book  the NE coach knows very well

I'm not sure Ron has read that book

Very few NFL coaches know what to do when they get up big IMO
