49ers Fans Seem Very Confident

I won't be shocked if the opposite happens and we get Steeler'd again. On paper, the 49ers are one of the worst match ups in the league for us IMO. I'll be very encouraged if we win this game.

How is that?

A defensive team with an okay offense?  One that is slanted more to stop the pass than run?

The worst matchup Carolina can face is essentially the Bucs defense with a Rams like offense (short passing offense that attacks horizontally instead of vertically).

Basically the Patriots or any cheap variation of it

Our biggest weakness right now IMO is our run defense. They're the #2 rushing offense in the NFL at 172ypg and would be #1 virtually any other season except for the Ravens off to an unprecedented start.

Jimmy is going to cough it up 3 times and we get 3 forced fumbles— 6 turnovers and we beat them handily.

you can’t win with Da Jimmy.

They're 6-0 with da Jimmy. He's not elite, but he's doing a great job of managing the game while leaning on that rushing attack. That's all they've needed from him so far.

I think part of that is we have faced collectively teams that are most dangerous and concerning to us throwing the ball.   Which means you essentially are playing the pass with greater emphasis than the run all game.

That won’t be the case this week.

We're also just different on the edges now. We have focused on speed and pass rush on the edges but everything is give and take. I'm definitely anxious to see how our edge guys hold up against a team that's going to line up and try to smash us in the mouth.
