Gerald McCoy, Vernon Butler, Kyle Love, Mario Addison, Shaq Thompson, Bruce Irvin, Ross Cockrell, Tre Boston, James Bradberry all unrestricted free agents next season.  That's a lot of key contributors in one offseason.

None of those should be overly costly outside of Shaq, Bradberry and McCoy IMO

Discussing this in another thread.  To cut KK would cost us 8.5 per season over the next two in dead money, and only free up 3M for next season.  If we can sign Butler to a deal worth 3M....then yea, maybe we cut KK, but he is likely to make a lot more than that.

But either way we have Poe, KK and should have either Butler or McCoy back. If we have to let both those DT's walk in order to keep Bradberry and Shaq, I can live with making DT a priority in the draft. I had been thinking OL was gonna be our big need area next draft but that now looks pretty solid. I'm not convinced we need to hit the draft panic button this coming year at DT. We have 2 probable starters returning for next year and if Butler looks worth keeping and we can resign him without breaking the bank we're actually in good shape next year on paper. Ofc, this is all dependant on a lot of moving parts and how the rest of the season plays out, but atm I'm just not worried about the DT situation.

I can see a scenario where if we do well this year and look set to be competitive next year as well McCoy resigns for less than people would think. The guy has made his money wandering in the Tampa wilderness his whole career. He clearly loves being a part of this team and it felt like he was a perfect fit in our locker room from Day One. Wouldn't be surprised at all if he's willing to take less just to have a shot at playing to win on a team he clearly enjoys.

Shaq and bradberry for sure.  But a lot of game is still left and a lot can happen to players named in OP thus changing the coaching staff thoughts and even our opinions about a player.  It would be a headache either way with the whole numbers game of who gets paid who should take cuts and etc...

I'm not worried about it, other than Ron and Marty staying and Ron convincing Marty that we have to have a top end DT to play his system and Marty selecting one.....his DT picks have been.....ummmmm.....awful.

We have just spend a LOT of draft capitol on DT's and LB's over the years.

Big reason why the performance of Cam this year is so important. Not sure but I think if we move on from Cam we save around 19m. He could also get us some decent draft capital as well.

You can't sit here in October and predict anything next season.

I don't think we'll have much trouble resigning everyone on that list that we want to.  Let's not forget that Cam Newton will not be on the team next year.  Even if he were, they have enough cap space.  PLUS, we have the draft.

I agree with you.  In today's pass happy league CB's as effective as Bradberry don't grow on tress.  He could start on most teams in NFL as a #1 corner, and probably every team as a #2 at worst.

As great as Shaq has played, his position (LB) is easier to fill than. The Panthers have always been able to draft good LB's over the past 25 yrs. With the exception of Gamble, Norman, and now Bradberry...our CB draft record has been mediocre at best.

That was Gettleman.  You remember the whole Hog Molly thing right?  Please know what you are talking about before posting or post on Facebook with the people that have no idea what is happening outside of the team name.  Second, KK hasn't had a 10+ sack season since resigning, but everything with a DT is not measured in sacks.  Though our defense is playing really good, we are still bottom half of the league in run defense this year.
