Why do teams still do them when other team does not have enough timeouts left?  All I see is dudes get angry and try to pick a fight.

It's every coaches favorite call. Coaches call it to avoid an injury on an unnecessary play and avoid any turnover.

Ron calls it to protect a 3 point lead with 2+ mins left.

btw running it at the half with almost two minutes left Then taking a timeout leaving no timeouts at the 40 yard line is basically doing the same thing
