joemac, I seldom disagree with your posts, but I don't buy the genius coach theory.  Didn't we hear the same about other coaches we've faced this year?  The game will be played by the players, and I think (MHO) overall our talent exceeds theirs.  At 6-0, they'll be pretty full of themselves.

All else you said, I agree with 100%.  Jimmy G will be severely tested, more than he ever has.

I gotta say, in the case of Kyle Shanahan, you might be wrong here. Jimmy G is way over rated, but Shanahan made his weaknesses almost completely irrelevant. I don't know how he does it. Every week I see twenty plays I've never seen before and I say to myself, "That's it, he's exhausted his playbook," and then he shows up with the Deebo Samuel touchdown, and every other weird screen they did that I have yet to see this season. Each week I keep waiting for him to run out of creative play designs, and each week he surprises me.

Y’all say what you want, but the niners are real.  I’m not sure the Saints can handle them.

Garoppolo isn't real, though. He's just the beneficiary of an otherwise elite team and elite offensive play caller in Shanahan. And this is coming from a 49er fan. They are winning in spite of him. He's not even managing the game well, since he makes boneheaded throws too often. Yeah, he makes a few good plays a game, but he's being dragged to victory by  his teammates and head coach.

    • Well unfortunately nothing to us. But he has been giving to the rest of the league. He's been so bad he was getting opposing defenders all kinds of accolades and salary increases. Now though he's taking back. You can't lose to a Bryce Young led offense and not expect swift ramifications ya know?
    • Full disclosure I responded to this before fully reading the whole post. As if I had, I’d have laughed at you saying you haven’t seen a full route tree from him, as that’s EXACTLY what he has in his bag.  That right there just shows you haven’t watched him at all outside of the downfield highlight reel plays.  He already runs a full NFL level route tree, at all 3 levels.  As I’ve said numerous times before, XL is the big bodied possession guy, while T-Mac would be the true outside #1 who can do it all and a perfect compliment to XL.   Want to draft someone else all you want, that’s totally fair.  But don’t try and say he’s just a big bodied WR who lacks quickness and can’t run a full route tree, as it’s just the furthest thing from the truth.     And it’s okay, after you watch some more clips, you can admit that you were wrong and I’m not showing my own bias towards him.  It’s not like I’m advocating for someone who should be a late 1st rounder or even a mid 1st round pick, this is someone who’s been mocked as high as #2 by a lot of experts lately. The kid is a stud and he has every tool in his bag that you’d want an outside #1 to have.
    • My perfect offseason at QB would be trade Bryce, sign Lock (experience with Canales) and draft Ewers in the second or late in the first
