Chargers packing it in this year and NEXT?

And what do you mean by “too”? They’re not just going to give Allen away when they have him under contract for another season.

Grammatical error. Thanks.

You think they're going to hang on to Rivers and Allen and all the other players? If they keep losing like they have been, they're sure as hell not going to keep the HC. Hell, Rivers may not even be on that team next year. These are all hypotheticals.

What cost us vs the saints 2 years ago in the playoffs was lack of wr depth..Sanders , a healthy Green or Allen instantly make this team even better and will take pressure off of a Allen, Cam, CMC and our young wideouts...this would be kin to getting Olsen. We’ve got a good shot to win it this year...some of y’all love the draft/offseason more than the actual season and it shows ha. Go for it

Another WR i'd Keep an eye on is Keenan Allen. Another guy that would fit this team well and the Chargers are about ready to pack it in. Another 6'2(some say 3) guy, 211, decent speed (Never ran the 40 at the combine which hurt his stock), and hands. Exactly what this team would need if they go after a WR. We have plenty of small speedy guys. Need that big body guy.

Marty would have to throw a draft pick at the Chargers too, I wouldn't be mad with a 3rd. Got Olsen for that and he was a 1st round pick. Chargers got him in the third too. Also he's a NC native. The ties are there.

Where are you getting this info? What makes u belive they are willing to trade KA?

I may be way off base, but I would think AJ Green could be had for much less than a 1st rounder.  More like 3rd.

You aren't really off base but Greens one of those guys that isn't getting moved without a 1st.

He's like Larry Fitzgerald to that region and community, they'll keep him around even if smart business is to move him.

IMO. He's in the untouchable unless the price is too good to pass up boat for LA. Those players are probably Allen, Ingram, Bosa and James.

Not sure the head coach is close to being in jeopardy; injuries put their season in question before it started and more injuries the first few weeks cemented them.

It's possible but the only problem is there's no guarantee the acquisition ends up being more than a one year rental. He is an FA in 2020 when he will be 32 years old.

You think he'll give us a discount?

He might.  He's had some injury trouble as of late, and we do give him a chance to win.  Most likely no, however.

I know I pied this but that article was from 2009 and I don’t think it applies anymore. Calais Campbell was already 30, turning 31 right before his first season with the Jaguars and Arizona got a 3rd (the top 3rd) for him in 2018. I don’t think there are any age restrictions in the formula anymore otherwise the Cardinals shouldn’t have gotten a 3rd for a player who turned 30 before playing his last season with them.  There are probably other examples as well.

That said, I don’t see Sanders getting a deal for a 3rd or maybe even a 4th. Green will definitely get a 3rd if he signs elsewhere after this year.

That’s definitely possible that it has since been changed. The NFL never publishes the comp pick rules so everything we know has basically been reverse engineered.
