Sanders is a FA at the end of the year.

We have other younger key guys we are trying to resign.

He isnt on the plans.  Dude is just trying to find a way to stir up a rumor that will fit with the one he already stated that the Broncos are trying to trade for Cam

Can't see any team offering more than a 5th or a 6th in this trade market for a 32 year old receiver.

WR isn't without some level of concern, but if we were to make a move for a position of need I would rather see it for more OL depth. Our success as of late has been centered heavily around our #1 RB. If need be if our line is clicking we should be able to get one of these other backs on our roster involved. That will provide versatility and an opportunity to give CMC a breather as we progress through the second half of our schedule.

I agree about o line depth. I think if we had to choose between the two positions I would go oline.

also I’m pretty sure hogan is designated to return and he is a baller if we need depth to play.

The same o line deep enough that we can't figure out who to bench now that people are coming back from injury? We have either Daley or Little for tackle depth (depending on who you bench) and Williams and Larsen for guard depth. Now who do we play if Samuel or Moore get injured? You want to ride on the back of Brandon Zylstra for any extended period of time?

Little is in the concussion protocol. And Williams has not played well. Larsen is not a good player. He’s ok depth.

we have pieces we can use if Moore or Curtis go down. And like I said I believe Hogan is coming back. Our offense for the most part runs through cmc

Anyone worth getting on the OL is not available without a ridiculous overpay. We would be lucky to get a Larsen or Williams level player in a trade. Most teams don’t even have 4 good OL, much less 6+, and they sure as hell aren’t trying to trade them. OL is the thinnest position in the NFL.

I’d rather have AJ if the price is right but does Sanders have a decent market as a FA? If so, a comp pick for him would negate some of the capital given up. Why do you think New England doesn’t mind flyers on guys like Mingo or Carpenter or Floyd? If there is any spark then they either keep them or hey get a comp pick. If not they get waived and cost very little. AJ will get a big enough deal to net a 3rd so giving up a 3rd the year before isn’t bad for a rental. He’s not young like Tunsil or Ramsey so he’s. It going to cost much being a FA after 2019.

Sanders can’t net a comp pick higher than a 5th because he is over 30

Hogan isn’t back for 6-7 weeks at the earliest. We’re out of the playoffs by them if we go back to 2017 WRs if DJ or Samuel get hurt.

Williams has been decent at G and he can fill in at T in case of emergency. I really hope Little is back this weekend or honestly he may be damaged goods alah Oher or Jordan Reed. Moton can also fill in at LT and put Williams at RT. Larsen isn’t a starter but he’s a good backup. If Little is back we are deep.

WR is way more shallow. We literally have our 3 starting WR when you have someone in the slot and that’s it. Our backups are completely unproven UDFAs. The WR depth is so much worse right now with Hogan out.

They said 8 games which was like 3-4 games ago. Williams is trash this year regardless of tackle or guard. Something is not right with him. Thinking it’s the knee. But he has looked terrible at guard and even worse at tackle. Only place I’d want him starting is right tackle for depth. Larsen is bad. Little has had two concussions in like 4 weeks. That is NOT good.

I made an assertion that I’d rather have oline depth than wr depth right now with the understanding that hogan would be back in roughly 4 weeks and if all things were equal we could get similar talent level to sanders at oline. If we can’t then I’d be fine with sanders. Even though he just came off an Achilles rupture last year. Ouch. Still wouldn’t be mad at Marty trying to make us better.

But once again I think we are over confident in our oline situation especially because we are a run based offense. Let’s say dj went down. We’d still have curtis, Wright Greg and cmc in the receiving game. That’s still 4 viable options who can spread the field and work the routes.

    • If there's another QB that came to the combine after packing on 15 lbs of water weight to hide his playing weight, I don't remember it.  I understand it's all part of the pre-draft game, and he participated. The FO was stupid and ignored huge red flags.  On a side note though, I was at the airport a few weeks ago and saw a basketball team going through and decided to try and look through them. I'm 6'2 and these guys were 6'6 and up. I was amazed by how much I couldn't see around them. And these guys weren't 300 plus in pads. I still think he's having a hell of a time seeing the field at the NFL speed.
    • There is merit to the points you're making here. On the flip side one could argue it took us investing 150 million in the oline for him to have a breakout season. And he has still yet to hit 1k rushing yards in a season. As far as Brooks goes the position does not require that significant of a draft investment for many other teams. That's not being negative it's just a matter of fact. The 49ers did quite well with a UDFA running back while McCaffrey was out. It is understandable that some people have concerns. That being said it boils down to whether or not you believe in the player. We just have to see what happens with him and Brooks.
    • Okay, that day in Vegas had to embarrass him completely. Andy showed him how to do the job.  What I think when I go there, why did it take Andy? He has had game after game of watching actual NFL QBs work and that didn't do it?  Anyhow Andy did not mess around, he stood in there and did his job and got rid of the ball ahead of the pressure. Down the field. With the same players Bryce had. Night and day.  If that didn't wake him up nothing ever would. But I don't think he has any sort of top NFL QB in him, he just lacks the full tool kit.
