Kyle Allen will never start a full season at QB for any team. Stop it.

Too soon to know that.

At this point, we only really know for certain that he's got enough skill to play in the NFL. Basically, he's good, but we don't know how good. A larger sample size is needed to answer that question.

Supposing it's answered that he's very good. Great news for us, but even then you still have the question of how long he's going to be good.

Undrafted free agents have a tendency towards short shelf lives. They might look great for a year or so and then completely drop off. As has been mentioned before, longevity is nearly impossible to predict.

So far, he's showing improvement each game (which is a positive). On the flip side, someone who observed him as a college player (forget who) stated that it's his habit to start great but then tail off. That hasn't happened yet, but it could.

Ultimately, Allen is still a huge unknown. Lots of potential upside, but will have to prove he can face bigger challenges.

For the moment, it's one game at a time.

My two cents on the situation is that given Cam's injuries in the last few seasons: shoulder and now plant foot. The Panthers aren't certain Cam will be able to return to 100% health this season. So if they outright say Cam is coming back and he's the starter they destroy Kyle's confidence AND god forbid Cam can't come back then they look like idiots.

But there's no doubt that Cam will be the starter if he is healthy enough. I don't think that needs to be 100% personally to be better than Allen, but certainly more healthy than games 1 and 2.

You can’t seriously think Kyle is a better QB than any of those guys. Minshew already outplayed him head to head while going against the better defense.

damn you making some sense and then just going off the rails.   and if this is like kawhi he's not playing here again because he's over carolina, period

the problem with some of your thinking aceboogie is first rivera said cam had no issue with the foot.  then cam supposedly told rivera he did have issues with the foot.  then cam went on youtube and said he was injured and hid it from the team.  so we all accept that cam really was hurt and that's why he literally sucked and cost us 2 games, but we also accept he  lied about the injuries, and he's telling the truth now.  the issue with believing people who lie in important situations, and then explain that they were lying but aren't now, is that you can't really be sure which time they were lying, and if the story they're giving as the truth now is accurate.  well, you know, because they're liars.   there are a lot of reasons the franchise is slow walking him back.  who do think is sheffty's source that he's ready to practice monday?  its not the team.

yes while Cam openly admits to lying about his injuru to the team he's also sitting there drinking alcohol and smoking a cigar all at the same time

so i don't know maybe it's just me but that doesn't appear to be someone very concerned with the rehab protocol and coming back 100% as he says he is in that video.

so moreover yeah with all that said I would most definitely agree to take what Cam Newtin says with a grain of salt.

When Cam wants to play he’ll play. The team isn’t walking him back because it’s not their decision.
