I find it interesting that so many Cam backers want him to sit against San Fran and return vs Tennessee

The only reason I would want him to sit is because that dline of the 49ers. If he gets sacked and shows rust people will say he stinks. We have to expect rust when he gets back. But sacks are the thing i fear. Plus we are right on the edge of Playoff position. I have no doubts if Cam was 100% and in rhythm with the offense I would say start him and we will be fine. But rust against a top 3 defense doesnt make for a good mix. Allen is not rusty and he is in rhythm. Tennessee is a better game for Cam to stay protected and shack off the rust. Its all about keeping Cam healthy and getting W's along with getting Cam back in rhythm.

Dating back to 2018, we averaged 23 points per game with Cam and have average 31.3 with Allen in his 5 starts. Correlation isn't causation but if it isn't broke, don't fix it. 

Our defense wasnt this defense so offense didn't get the ball too much as they do now. Defense creates that short field to score. Ex: Bradberry pick at the 28 yd line.

What if Allen dismantles the 49er defense?  Do we still bench him?

The last thing anyone in the organization should worry about is the reaction from fans. They should however worry about what caused the reaction.

But, there is no way Cam is close to 100% ready to play anyway. He should get two weeks unlimited practices. That could be a month away or more, maybe less.

Posters are not actually rooting against Allen. They just don’t like the hypocrisy of some posters. Some are trolling the way they get trolled when Cam was the starter.
 

I think if he torches the San Fran defense there needs to be serious discussions about Allen staying in win or loss depending on what happens. If he’s just another game manager type win or loss then Cam needs to be inserted into the lineup if he’s healthy because he will give us the best chance to make the playoffs and go on a run.

Also I think it’s very unfair to Allen to think he’s gonna torch the 9ers defense. I’m not sure how some people think that’s going to happen unless they’re just being supremely positive fans or they have an agenda. Everything Allen has showed us suggests he’s just gonna be ok against this defense. Which is similar to HOU. And that’s ok. Team game.

A healthy Cam would be just “okay” against that defense.  Mainly because he holds the ball longer than he should too often. .  I have a feeling Norv will have plays dialed up for Allen that will be pretty damn effective.   Of course I could be wrong......
