I find it interesting that so many Cam backers want him to sit against San Fran and return vs Tennessee

Ok, so we are taking 4 games and determining that Kyle Allen is now ready to replace the best QB in franchise history. He is ready to replace a franchise QB who is ONLY 30 and is out due to a foot injury, not a major arm injury. We are crowning a backup QB who beat 4 teams with a combined record of 10-13-1 and where any non-bias fan can admit where he didn’t play thst well in 2 of those games.

we are sitting here open to the possibility of moving on from a franchise QB who won a league MVP for a QB who fumbles every time the wind blows. The Panthers didn’t even believe in this kid since they wasted a top 100 pick on a back up QB in the draft.

i like Kyle Allen. I do not want to root against him or to lose. It is just pathetic how so many people in the media are writing Cams obituary. Also think it is a joke how many “panthers” fans are willing to move on to Cam just like that.

At the end of the day it's just business. Panthers just haven't really experienced moving on from great players. Smith, Peppers. 49ers moved from Joe and Rice cowboys Smith etc . Allen might not be the answer but he is 23 so maybe he could be. Cam might come back and fly like Superman. I hope both are true.Cause that would be great for my team.

I don't want Cam the battering ram of 2015. But he could throw a better ball in 2015 before the first shoulder surgery and subsequent scar buildup. So perhaps it is delusional but I want Cam the passer in 2015 if that is possible with his improved technique and Norv as his OC.    Is that asking too much?

my Cam stance has never changed.

I wanted us to draft Cam.  And the condition was, if we draft him....we let him be Cam.  If we didn't, I didn't want him.

That meant he wasn't going to be Brady playing until he was 40.

I still want Cam.  Want him back this year.  But I only want Cam back if he is Cam.  Cam is the greatest mismatch in NFL history when allowed to be Cam.  That is what has always made him great.   He doesn't have to be half the run game.  But he does have to be the mismatch when it presents itself.

I got no interest in a Cam that doesn't run.   Price tag isn't worth that dude.  Because he isn't bringing the mismatch that makes him unique.

Both Newton and Allen will lost to the 49ers and only throw for 80 yards

DVOA/Football Outsiders has the Niners pass defense as one of the best in NFL history

Not one quarterback has been able to throw against them this year

It's just a matter of who wants to get the blame

I dont thinkthe niners Defense is that good

If Allen has a bad game I won't hold it against him I'm not expecting him to be Russell Wilson or anything

I think Newton is a Vet and is held to a higher standard tho

I agree

But it's been  9 years of this for Newton

The saviors keep changing though

DA

Grier

Rosen

Now Allen

I always thought Cam was the savior. I was living in NYC for his first 6 seasons and always joked with friends of mine who were fans of all different teams by referring us as the Camolina Camthers, because it kinda felt like it was a one man show.

Of course some people never liked him or gave him a chance for a variety of reasons, but any Panthers fan that we should care about all want him to succeed because it is what's best for the organization. I can't honestly remember anyone ever mentioning those guys as a savior with the exception of Allen, kinda, because it's more recent. And you have to be fair, that after losing 8 in a row last year and losing the first two, you can't get mad at anyone being excited or optimistic that we finally have a legit winning streak going again. I wont lump a few knuckleheads and have them represent the entire fanbase because they obviously do have their own personal agendas. But our one common agenda should be winning. Celebrate all the guys contributing to that.

I know not all of the Cam backers want this, so if you want him to start against San Francisco, congratulations...I'm not talking about you. But I've seen a lot of people that want Cam to get his job back that say they want him to sit one more game against San Francisco and come back against Tennessee.

If you want Cam back, you must want him back healthy. And, by all accounts so far, it looks like he'll be healthy enough to start against San Francisco if that's what Rivera decides. So what's the real reason some Cam backers don't want to see him against San Francisco? Could it be, and I'm just spitballing here, that you're afraid he's going to look terrible against San Francisco and want him to play the awful Titans as his first game back instead? Surely that's not it right? If Cam is healthy he's a top 5/MVP-caliber QB right? So why fear the 49ers? If Cam is as good as you say, shouldn't we blow the 49ers out if we add an MVP-caliber QB to a team with a defense as playing as well as it is?

We don't want him "healthy enough". We want him to be Cam again. That requires being HEALTHY. No enough, no qualifiers.

yeah things will finally return to normal

What people here hope Cam doesn't play well?

I'll wait.

We want to win. Point blank.

Dating back to 2018, we averaged 23 points per game with Cam and have average 31.3 with Allen in his 5 starts. Correlation isn't causation but if it isn't broke, don't fix it.
