I find it interesting that so many Cam backers want him to sit against San Fran and return vs Tennessee

Yet.... here we are in Cam's 9th season and no SB ring.... how do you explain that?

Are you implying that Cam Newton alone is the reason that the team has not won a SB during his tenure?

Or are you actually inquiring about the multitude of reasons behind the team coming up short?

This is your response when confronted with reason and logic. No wonder I'm not taking advice from you. You can't or won't make basic distinctions between opinions and facts taught in grade school and resort to ad hominem attacks when confronted with it.

Nope just not going to waste my time with someone who can’t underdrand something as obvious as Cam Newton being a better football player than Kyle Allen. I’m not going to give you a platform to feed into most likely your ridiculously stupid agenda against Cam. Take that garbage to someone else.

I'm challenging @NJPanthers12 to actually answer the question that I originally asked.  He opted to dodge the question by implying that the rest of the guys I have listed aren't needed for a SB run in favor of keeping Newton... ergo Newton will get us to the promised land without these other guys, so they are expendable.  With that logic, we should have had a ring by now.  By extension, we can jettison these other players to secure a contract with Newton for the foreseeable future as Newton will see us to the ultimate goal of SB wins.

I have no agenda against Cam. I'm pro Cam. What I'm against is people representing opinions as facts, even when they are opinions I agree with. Put forth an opinion based argument on why you feel Cam is our best option if he proves healthy and you'll find I'm right there with you. Assert your opinion as fact regardless of the topic or situation, and I'll disagree with that, not your opinion of the player. Please understand how to separate the two things.

Becsuse Cam Newton is a top 10 QB in the NfL when healthy. Franchise QBs don’t lose their jobs coming off a foot injury to an undrafted free agent. If you need more of an explanation go google search it and watch how cam and Luke have carried this team over the past decade on their backs. And I’m tired of dumbass front running fans who jumped on the bandwagon in 2015 dancing on Cams grave.

No you’re definitely right dude. The colts made a mistake not moving on from Manning. Saints and broncos made mistakes not moving on from Brees and Elway. I didn’t ignore what you said you said you just decided to cherry pick what you wanted to hear. You don’t need to lose all those players to keep Cam.

It actually won't be just about who is better honestly. It will actually be whether Cam is worth paying 20 million more than Allen based on their difference in talent. If we see the Cam of 2015 you can make a case to pay him. If it the Cam of 2018 or later, then a legitimate argument could be made  that Allen is cheap and not a serious downgrade making him pretty valuable and a good option.

So you don’t pay the Cam Newton from the first 8 games of 2018, coming off a dominant playoff game against the Saints in 2017? Come on now.

Lay out which of those players you're willing to part with.  DJ Moore won't cost much when his contract comes due.  Burns will likely command more.  A lot of those guys are key and are not feasible to keep with a contract that Newton will command.  As a result, you need to part ways with a number of those cogs.  You named two easy ones, but you will need at least two key guys off that list if you want Newton that badly.  Ball's in your court buddy.

as much as OP is the fugin worst his point at its core is a good one. if cam isn't healthy enough to play against SF you sit him. if he's healthy you play him. there is no easing back.

It's still a strawman though that he's created to continue his crusade, you have to see through that

Brian burns isn’t a free agent for 5 years. I’m not losing my franchise QB because I need to pay my pass rusher 5 years from now. I’m willing to lose short, Addison, Reid, donte Jackson, Shaq Thompson. And again there is no reason they have to lose them all to keep Cam. And you seem to forget they get to draft new players every year.

Best healthy player should start.

If Cam is healthy, that is him. If you want to sit a healthy Cam Newton because he might get hurt, then go ahead and trade him. That is ridiculous.

Say it louder for the people in the back!

If you look back he wasn't that dominant in 2018. He still had shoulder issues and he was still inconsistent. I contend he got hurt more as the season went on but his range of motion wasn't that great even early and he had some of the same scar tissue that was removed in the offseason before the season started. Honestly he wasn't 100% in my opinion in 2018 so no I dont think 2018 was great. He benefitted from short passes and not holding the ball but his deep passing in 2018 was not great. Seems his ball was flatter and he lost lots of touch on the ball post surgery the first time.  I am hoping that this time the shoulder is fixed totally. But that is my opinion.

And you're accusing ppl of not being able to distinguish a hockey puck from a football... right

Good luck with your future GM prospects
