I find it interesting that so many Cam backers want him to sit against San Fran and return vs Tennessee

...and prior to that Schefter reported, on the record, that Cam is healthy and ready to practice.

Schefter didn't just make that up, someone in Cam's camp leaked it to him.

Person's comment hinges on that.

ready to practice.. isn't reporting he is ready to play vs the 49ers.  Two totally different things.  People hear ready to practice and are acting like that is the same thing as reporting he is ready for SF.

I mean, Cam could come back and do sideline work only for the first week back.  That would be normal.  I mean they might not actually really test his foot hard until his 2nd week back.  Who knows what his timetable might be.

Freaking coward take. If Cam can play that means he's fully healthy and his health shouldn't be a concern. The offensive line has being playing well. You play your starters if healthy period. The only reason you wouldn't play Cam is if you're scared to death he's going to be exposed, look terrible yet again, we lose, and then you really WILL have a QB controversy.

God your life must be so sad.

So having two good QBs ready to play against San Fran is a bad thing?

If Cam isn't healthy enough to run around and do Cam type of things, then he needs to continue healing.  I don't ever want to see "pocket passer Cam that won't run" again.  We've seen this version of Cam and it wasn't pretty.

Deep down they think he will flop against the niners and they don’t want to have to admit it.

def some truth to that, but neither of our qb's would be the first, second, or third qb to flop against them.   the ugly part will be if one of them flops because of their d-line's pressure and people start saying it proves anything.

Hey remember when OP said Cam would never lead the panthers to a 4th quarter comeback and then Cam proceeded to rifle off like 5 of them in one season. Good times.

This fan base is pathetic

You mean this FAN.

No need to generalize, out of the thousands of fans I’ve interacted with a literally NOT one has said something similar to this single internet poster.

2 weeks ago, there was a thread about Cam being at practice. In a boot, but at practice. Last week, there was a thread about Cam being ready after the bye. Ready to return to practice, not ready to play. People are so desperate for attention they misword or completely fabricate the stories.

Kinda crazy but when/if Allen/Cam starts and beats 49ers. People will say well the 49ers have not really played anyone. If Cam starts and loses it will be because not 100% or insert excuse. If Allen starts and loses people will say we needed Cam and Allen will only ever be a backup.

I don't care who starts I just want to win. If the Panthers move on from Cam I'm still a fan of the Panthers same goes for moving away from Allen.

I know not all of the Cam backers want this, so if you want him to start against San Francisco, congratulations...I'm not talking about you. But I've seen a lot of people that want Cam to get his job back that say they want him to sit one more game against San Francisco and come back against Tennessee.

If you want Cam back, you must want him back healthy. And, by all accounts so far, it looks like he'll be healthy enough to start against San Francisco if that's what Rivera decides. So what's the real reason some Cam backers don't want to see him against San Francisco? Could it be, and I'm just spitballing here, that you're afraid he's going to look terrible against San Francisco and want him to play the awful Titans as his first game back instead? Surely that's not it right? If Cam is healthy he's a top 5/MVP-caliber QB right? So why fear the 49ers? If Cam is as good as you say, shouldn't we blow the 49ers out if we add an MVP-caliber QB to a team with a defense as playing as well as it is?

I really dont like the term "Cam backer". If he is playing then I'm going to back him, and people on here know that I think the team is playing well under Allen.

I like Cam and if Allen falters or gets hurt I hope he brings the juice. I'm a little skeptical of his ability to remain healthy...but calling people Cam backers or Camstans is just stupid and divisive.

The only reason to want Kyle Allen to start against the 49ers is so he can get sacked 59 times, fumble on 58 of them, throw a few picks, and finally shut up the joke of a media and unintelligent fans in this fan base. Also to ensure that Marty and Ron don’t make the single worse decision in franchise history.

i will never cheer harder for a loss.

Praise him for being the game manager he has been. Praise Christian mccaffeey and the defense for leading us to victory. And maintain the belief that you couldn’t tell the difference between a hockey puck and football if you truly believe Kyle Allen is a better option for the Carolina Panthers than Cam Newton .
