Kyle Allen - Trade

Only way a consideration for trading Kyle is on the table is if cam comes back 100% healthy, finishes the season strong, and/or we make a deep playoff run, followed up by another healthy productive season by cam, all while proving he can age gracefully at the position and doesn’t need rpo’s ect(which he didn’t need last year really).

Then would you consider trading Kyle after he’s exhausted his restricted status, and even then that’s still murky, because it would depend on does the staff think his performance is a flash in a pan or is he capable of being a franchise guy from what they’ve seen.

Bottom line is it’s highly unlikely a trade happens, barring him and his agent demanding one (another possibility)

Lets talk hypotheticals here...

Lets say QB1 comes back and plays well. Now lets also assume that Will Grier continues to develop throughout the season, Kyle Allen could probably fetch some pretty good trade capital given how young and cheap he is.

We might be in a position like the Patriots have been the last several years where we trade a back up for decent draft capital. I think that is the best case situation for us.

Are you really not up to speed on this?

Holy crap Belichick was furious about it.

There was a huge article about it in ESPN the magazine.

Eric Mamgini has been interviewed about it.

Belichick has decision making power over only 52 players in NE. He absolutely didn't want to trade JG. JG was supposed to be his legacy transition plan. It's the main reason he may not retire as coach of the Patriots.

I remember the situation but your saying he didn't pick up the phone and make the trade.. that brady traded jimmy g?

He had two choices.

Trade Jimmy

Be fired.

That's it. What the hell else would he do?

Your denying the fact that he did trade him. And lets be honest if he got fired belichick would be without a job maybe a week if that long. Arguably the greatest coach of all time. He wasn't backed into a corner. This is Ron Rivera level job security.

If you think that the OP is 'shitposting' than this entire forum must get you pretty worked up... yikes.

But you know what, blame on me. I forgot this is the internet and that you cannot have football discussions on the internet. My bad.

I think it's a good question. However this plays out I wonder what his value is. Especially when you consider that Chase Daniel with a lifetime record of 2-3 as QB has earned over $24 million. If you had asked on here whether Allen was worth a 2nd round pick prior to the season you would have been laughed at.
