Borderline trolling.  You may as well trade Burns while you are at it because his stock is high now.

I mean hey, we've got Bruce Irvin, right? Why not go ahead and try to trade Brian Burns or Christian Miller to get something out of them?

Deja Vu, Remember when people wanted to trade DA, when he was the only viable option to keep the team going while Cam was hurt back in the day? Same applies now, except that Kyle is younger and is actually a better back up. With potential to be a starter. But people want to trade him away. lol.

I'd add to that the coaches perspective...

As fans, we don't see all the work that goes into preparing the players. We don't see all the practices, the coaching, the meetings the sidebars, the everything.

A lot of position coaches and even coordinators for their absolute heart and soul into getting these guys ready and putting them in a position to succeed.

And when they do, it validates everything you've done. You see that guy improving, progressing, growing into what will eventually be a bigger and hopefully more successful role.

Then some yahoo comes along and says "Hey, let's trade him for draft picks so that instead of enjoying the fruits of your labors, you can start the whole process all over again."

No better way to show how objectively you're evaluating the football info than to throw a tantrum and not even include any statements related to the actual topic.

Nice try.

It seems pretty obvious that you and some others are checking under your bed for Kyle Allen before you go to sleep. You're worried that he might actually be good enough to replace Newton, and that thought scares you to death.

Here's the thing, though: All the words you write on this message board have zero effect.

Nobody that matters is listening, nor should they be.

What happens with Newton is going to happen. If he comes back to form, great. But if he doesn't and Allen ultimately replaces him, there's not a thing you can do about it. That's just reality.

And again, the vast majority of us don't care how this turns out as long as we're winning. It's about the team, not who plays for it.

You attack me bro... dont act like you just were innocently sitting here doing nothing wrong and I just came and threw a tantrum. You did that passive aggressive approach and want everyone to think your just good old Scott, who is just telling it like it is. You have opinions and that's fine and preferences in this debate like anyone else, that's fine. Clearly you believe if anyone has to go it should be Newton.

My thing with you is you try to say " no that's not what I ment, what I mean is nobody knows". Of course nobody knows that isn't the question. The question is do we find out If Newton can return to form or just can him and roll with Allen. That's where we differ. I definitely think you HAVE to see if the former MVP has any gas left. Like other posters have said,If you plan on trading him they need to see what he has left. I don't see any scenario where Newton doesnt return to the field.. it just isn't plausible.

I don't actually care enough about you to "attack you", kid.

You certainly seem to care a lot about me, though. Enough so that you wrote an entire post just about me without even mentioning the actual topic of the thread.

As to "no scenario where Newton doesn't see the field", hate to tell you but yeah, it's actually possible. In fact, The Athletic just posted another article (this one by Ross Tucker) how about why that's what should happen.

Will it? No idea. Should it? Don't care. Again, all that matters is that we win.

I'd understand that logic if it was years ago when there were huge holes in positions that needed upgrades and to be honest right now, the team seems balanced for the most part and it does not need Major upgrades that warrant getting rid of talent for talent, or unknowns with potential. I like where the team is at the moment. Allen is a formidable back up with the grasp on the offense. The rest of the team has depth, you can't say it doesn't, look at all the injuries and we're still getting wins. People are stepping up and i'm glad to say it's because there is depth in this team. Trading allen would be asinine.

Pretty much.

Most teams that trade a guy like this do so because they've got an overabundance of depth at a certain position and the guy they trade isn't likely to see the field.

We are most definitely not in that position.

Besides the fact you just did the exact same thing "you don't care about".  I even bolded the clear attack and you still deny it lol .I wasn't even talking to you "kid". I wrote my opinion about how I the eventual outcome is to trade Allen. That apparently pissed you off enough to write a "Allen scares you to death"post to me. Again you directed all your energy to me. I was just posting as I normally do. Maybe I threaten u?

But keep living in Mayberry where "good old football historian" is the lone voice of reason. The good ole boys..

Promising? LOL. Kyle won’t be in the league in 4 years.

Matt Moore has been in the league for over a decade now....

pretty sure Kyle Allen is showing he has a place somewhere in the league.

Short Story time. SF called the Pats and asked if Jimmy was up for a trade, Pats said no. SF talked about it, then called the Pats again. This time they asked if Tom was on the trade market since Jimmy isnt.... Pats said no.... then called back and said Jimmy was available. John Lynch with the vet move and got Jimmy for an 2nd rounder.

Eeehhh, no. Amuse me, perhaps.

But again, here's the thing: All this energy you're directing towards denial isn't going to accomplish anything. What happens with both Newton and Allen will happen on the field.

Again, I'm comfortable with whatever that is as long as we're winning, though I'm pretty sure if things don't turn out the way they want them to you're going to have a hissy fit.

Are you really not up to speed on this?

Holy crap Belichick was furious about it.

There was a huge article about it in ESPN the magazine.

Eric Mamgini has been interviewed about it.

Belichick has decision making power over only 52 players in NE. He absolutely didn't want to trade JG. JG was supposed to be his legacy transition plan. It's the main reason he may not retire as coach of the Patriots.

I remember that.

let's be serious here & I'm really wondering if some are? but why on this Gods green earth would anybody. entertain the notion to trade away an inexpensive, healthy, young, and most importantly someone who can produce wins for an unknown?
