Jalen Ramsey to the Rams for a Lot

No player is worth 2 first rounders 2 years in a row. I'd hate that if the Panthers did that for anyone.

Especially with Hurney's ability to hit gold mines on 1st round picks that would be asinine for us to do.

At one time we thought Sean Gilbert was. We all remember how that turned out...

Did not think they would get two 1sts and then another pick. Thought the most they might get was two 1sts but have to give back a 3rd or something. That’s a hell of a haul for the Jags.

I can’t see that what the Rams are doing is sustainable. They are going to have like 6 guys taking up 50% of the cap then 47 on rookie and minimum contracts in a couple years.

Haha he's good, but 2 first rounders good? Nah.

for many teams no, but the Rams were in the SB last year and want to get back. they're in win now mode, while Aaron Donald is in his prime, etc. who are they gonna draft next year immediately better than Jalen Ramsey?

I almost started a thread on this, but this return perfectly illustrates how valuable corners are in today's passing obsessed league. our corners have been so incredibly good this season with the pass rush now an effective weapon to get pressure. james bradberry is going to get paid. javien elliot has looked tremendous. ross cockrell has also been fantastic. even without donte jackson we've had some of the best corner play in the league. credit as well to reid and boston not getting beaten over the top very much.

Their OL is trash and Goff is getting shellacked. They really needed to be able to invest in that. Without 1st round picks they have no way to reliably acquire top, cheap talent.

Rams also just gave away Peters for essentially nothing (a 5th round pick and some random scrub LB) after trading a first for him a year ago...

I believe it was Peters and a later draft pick for a 4th and 2nd, not a first round pick.

2017, 2018, and 2019 they traded away their first round picks now 2020 and 2021. That’s 5 straight years without a first round pick.

2016 they traded for Goff

2015 they took Gurley

2014 they took Donald and OT Greg Robinson

2013 they took Ogletree and Tavon Austin

Between Goff, Gurley, Donald, Ramsey, and a few others their cap situation is going to be very ugly very soon.

Imagine some dude said to take ONE first round pick for Cam. Sheesh.

Yes.

There are two enormous factors that mean Cam's value would not be worth Ramsey's in trade.

1. Age

2. Injury history.

No one is likely to give up multiple first rounders for a 30 year old with an injury history like Cam's. You're welcome to fantasize about the notion someone would, but dont' expect it to actually happen.

Ramsay demanded a trade.  Got traded to a much tougher division, and now has what..a 13% state income tax..so he is taking a decent pay cut.

Marketing opportunities in LA vs Jacksonville will definitely cover the difference
