If Cam comes back Cam, hopefully Allen can be Cams next Derek Anderson. Lol. And then we still have Grier. Kyle and or Grier could be trade bait. 

If Cam is still hurt, make it an open comp next training camp. Just to see if Grier could possibly be ready to take the reigns, and if you need to part ways with Cam.

Allen has zero leverage. He’s basically playing under a rookie contract (just like all other rookie contracts), except it is year to year (and had no signing bonus). If Cam comes back healthy, he’s the starter and Allen is the backup. 

If Cam can’t get healthy, Allen is a really cheap starter the next two full seasons, plus another year or two of leverage with the franchise tag available.
