Willie McGinnest talks about Kyle vs Cam

Found the quote from Breer (MMQB)

Credit the Panthers coaches, and in particular offensive coordinator Norv Turner and quarterbacks coach Scott Turner, for putting Kyle Allen in a tremendous position to succeed. Multiple people in that building have told me that Carolina really hasn’t needed to change anything to accommodate its new quarterback, which I’ve found most interesting. In fact, they’ve done a little more with Allen in certain ways, since they don’t have to worry as much about managing the hits he takes in the running game.

That, of course, isn’t to say Allen is Cam Newton. But he’s been smart enough to pick up the system to the point where the change hasn’t disrupted the other 10 guys in the huddle, and that’s shown in their collective production—Carolina is fifth in the NFL in offensive points scored.

I would just like to see one argument using TEAM STATISTICS to show why Cam should start over Allen, at this point. People want to say McCaffrey is amazing because he had over 100 receptions last year. CMC is great, no doubt, but not because he caught over 100 passes. He caught over 100 passes because Cam makes one read and then dumps it down to CMC. CMC is a good outlet, but use him as an outlet. You don't dump it off when you have Samuel streaking 45 yards downfield wide ass open. Allen would dump it 55 yards downfield to Samuel while Cam makes the read to McCaffrey. Therein lies the difference.

McGinnist has always been an idiot.  Huge air of self importance any time he speaks and always sounds like he’s just spouting random poo off the top of his head with no research or anything to back up his opinions.

Steve Smith also said the Panthers would be wise to stick with Kyle Allen.

I agree---but will a healthy Cam sit without being a distraction?  Not sure.

I think this would be a good dose of humility for him. Not that he seems to have been worried about his job, but he is extremely prideful and it became a detriment to the team in the form of lying about the severity of his injury and pain. If Cam can take this moment for what it is, it can be of personal and professional benefit to him. If he wants to get upset and become the center of attention (which I don't think he will publicly or in the building), it will not be a benefit to anyone.

Why did the Patriots keep Tom Brady on the field when Bledsoe came back? Because Brady was winning and could manage the game well. That's what we have now.

Note: Tom Brady didn't become Tom Brady for a few more seasons. The Brady comparison at the comparitive stages of Allens and Brady's careers makes this a completely relevant comparison.

Recent report said just the opposite actually.

I think it was Albert Breer.

I didn't have any luck finding that report but, I would be interested in knowing just how much he has opened it up for him in just the four starting games this season. If it's a lot then that would indicate to me the amount of trust Norv has in the young man.

Look back a few posts...

I wish real Panthers fans was on the huddle. Everyone pulling against someone bringing our team wins.

No people are against fuging idiots like you who will gladly poo on a guy who is top 7 at his position when healthy just for the sake of “being a fan” aka being a fuging racist, time to start calling it like it is. Not everyone who hopes Allen kicks Newton off the team is racist but hot damn a lot of them are

Boy it’s nice seeing all these reporters and analysts expose themselves . They been waiting for cam to fall off a cliff for years now lol now they ready to kick him to the curb and don’t even watch our games or know about half the team

brizz you gotta realize these are opinion shows.  in pre-production meetings they draw straws for who has to give the really hot take.  without a really smoking take they don't get people watching.   willie may not even believe this as strongly as he says it.   he's doing a job for nfln

I don’t disagree. Willie’s confidence that Cam won’t be a Panther next year was the stupid thing he said this time.

It's not something I would confidently predict, but I have to acknowledge it's possible.

If he wanted to retire and just live his post-football life, outside of not having a ring, what would be the downside?

Sure anything’s possible. But if I recall correctly, he was like “Cam Newton will not be a Panther next year.”  Wasn’t some wild predictions segment or anything, just him throwing his usual poo out there. It’s the way he always is. If Cam decides to retire, it would suck but I wouldn’t blame him.
