SB nation article says you are stupid if you think there's a true QB controversy

i'm not asking about DW being there, i'm asking about him not getting help because of the obvious struggles.  whose responsibility is it?   is cam not calling people back in?  is it the playcall?  i honestly don't know.

why should it be cam's responsibility to ask for more olinemen on the field? that's definitely not on him lol.

The big issue for most people who are not clamped down hard onto Cam's scrotum:  What are the signs that a QB who has taken a beating might be on the decline?   If you compare him to other running QBs who have taken fewer hits,  it does not look good.  If Cam is healthy, great.  But for how long?  If we trade a QB that is a proven winner and Cam's skills dwindle into mediocrity, over the next year or two, well,  that is stupid too.

Cam for a year or two and extra picks? Yes I agree that there is a lot if risk with Cam now. Nothing is guaranteed, I just want to see what he has left. I just dont see Allen as a long term answer anyways. Again, there is a long list of backups that played well, were highly valued, traded and proved they were not high quality starters. So far, that's what Allen looks like. And yes, he could be the next Tom Brady, but there has only ever been one of him where the list of good backups on good teams that went on to be meh starts with too large of contracts vastly out weighs that comparison statistically.

I think you are right--maybe a little too late--thanks to Shula and Dorsey.  Norv is good for Cam, and maybe this ordeal will help Cam realize that the S on his chest now stands for Smart.  I fear that they drove him into the ground as they are driving CMC now--I hope I am wrong...

I think he’s there as far as the S now stands for smart. He showed that in 2018. His arm just fell off.  Also, taking this time off to heal. He’s watching the games and seeing how the playmakers are doing. He’s all over Kyle’s and teammates IG giving major props and supporting the team. He knows what we have when he comes back.

good god saca, not asking for more lineman, bringing olsen in, or manhertz, from the formation, to help protect. i don't think you understand the question.

I agree. A lot of dumb people on this site. But many of them have ulterior motives for wanting Kyle over cam

A lot of people are making this overly complicated and alluding to a bunch of bs...

some people just enjoy the Panthers winning.  It isn’t complicated.  If what we we doing is working they simply want to roll with it until it stops working.  Can then adjust when it stops.

Everything doesn’t involve a hidden agenda.

tbh he's always been a pocket passer since 2011. just because QB designed runs exists doesn't mean when he throws, he literally sits in the pocket and delivers like textbook pocket passers do.

only difference is more competent playcalling + short options in CMC, Moore, etc. to make plays and high percentage throws. back then, he only had vertical intermediate-deep options as reliable targets and little to no checkdown options at all.

I agree there are other factors involved, lack of oline, Wrs who couldn’t separate/lack of yac. Cam was playing really heady football in the first 8 games last year. CMC has been a big factor in that.

one concern I’m having and I think this is very fair. Cam needs to get to the line faster. Allen has done a better job of this the past several weeks. I’m not sure what the issue is. I think it can be a couple of things. Cam running and being worn out, as a well as Cam having difficulty relaying the verbiage. Up tempo really serves Cam well. And he can get to the line quick, read the defense, audible and go from there. Norv needs to play to Cams strengths better in that regard.

I agree with that. I'm only talking about the ones that make it obvious why they don't like cam

the article in sum: if you look at kyle allen and think "wow that kid looks like a franchise quarterback" and not "wow this kid looks like a great backup, thank god we won't be tanked before getting our HOF MVP franchise quarterback healthy" you are stupid.

if you disagree you are stupid

Shouldn't you be on vacation?

How does this article stack up if we come out of SF with a win with KA at the helm?  What if we lose with Cam at the helm?

*********** Confirmation bias incoming ***********

I agree.

I am also willing to admit that Cam will never be "healthy" again.

Cam needs to quit going down on one knee before every snap and slowly getting up....he started that when he ran all game.  He gets up like he is exhausted so people can’t tell when he actually is later. Little things like that added up.  Wasted time every play.

I also hope he spends some time doing a little self evaluating. Igo did hit the nail on the head with his shotgun tell on the snap helping DLs tee off.
