Well, I think describing it as being "beaten into submission to save his sh1tty head coach's job time and time again" would be more accurate, but I don't disagree with your basic premise.

This is where a lot of the discussion diverges, I think.

It's one thing to talk about where he is right now, quite another to discuss how he got there.

I've argued with plenty of people that Newton was getting David Carr'd, but was continually told that this couldn't happen.

I would assert now that it most decidedly could.

Norv Turner has never run a West Coast Offense in his entire career, and he sure as hell isn't running one now.

I dont think that's what he ment word for word. But it basically illustrates it's more simplified than what's asked of newton.  More dump downs short yardage type throws. Which has never been what Newton does.

What’s the take away here? It took Kyle half as much time to accrue the same number of passing yards?

So if Kyle plays 8 games, he should have the same TD count but twice the passing yards?

Thats Yards per game bud not totals

And yes Cam had a higher completion % more yards per game.  While playing with a LT who got called off the streets to replace Kalil and nkt facing the worst defenses in football

We averaged 27 points and were 6-2.  We’re averaging more under Allen right now, but on a 4 game sample size vs 8 and a much weaker defensive schedule.  Texans held us to 16

We've literally played the 32nd and 30th ranked defense's........out of 32 teams in that 4 game stretch.  Id hope we'd avg a lot of points

I love when people come up with numbers thinking no one will check on them.

NFL.com passing defense

Jags 15th

Texans 24th

Cards 30th

Tampa 32nd. The same team Cam lost to.

Whats your point,

Those are the same numbers i posted

And yes Cam DID lose to Tampa

While playing on a bad foot.  And if you dont think a even sore foot can throw off a QB, then youve never played the game

Live in the now and do Cam this year vs Allen

And those that say Cam wasn’t healthy...he didn’t play week 17 or any preseason games.  That’s a long time to get right.

What are you talking about.. he literally played the 3rd preseason game and on the first series got obliterated with Daryl William's at left tackle experiment.. that's how we got to the foot injury right now lol.

Allen through these 4 games

225.3 passing ypg

65.5 comp %

7/0 TD/int

1.5 rushing ypg

0 rushing TDs

6 fumbles

Cam under the same OC prior to the injury last year

236 passing ypg

67.3 comp %

15/4 TD/int

42 rushing ypg

4 rushing TDs

4 fumbles

*note's to add

Cam was playing behind Clark at LT

Allen has faced the leagues, 32nd, 30th, 24th pass defenses thus far

To me they look similar.  Seems like it's a system any QB can run.  Might as well go with the cheaper one then.

Cam hasn’t played more than 2-games this year, one contest he was dealing with lisfranc

Both Games. The injury happened literally the first game of the preason on the first drive where he got let down by Daryl William's at tackle. We haven't cam healthy this season.

Albert Breer:

Credit the Panthers coaches, and in particular offensive coordinator Norv Turner and quarterbacks coach Scott Turner, for putting Kyle Allen in a tremendous position to succeed. Multiple people in that building have told me that Carolina really hasn’t needed to change anything to accommodate its new quarterback, which I’ve found most interesting. In fact, they’ve done a little more with Allen in certain ways, since they don’t have to worry as much about managing the hits he takes in the running game.

That, of course, isn’t to say Allen is Cam Newton. But he’s been smart enough to pick up the system to the point where the change hasn’t disrupted the other 10 guys in the huddle, and that’s shown in their collective production—Carolina is fifth in the NFL in offensive points scored.

What?  Allen had the same OL.  If not worse.  Not buying.
