"London Panthers has a nice ring to it!"

Put me down as a Dr. McCoy on that front.

I don't care who invents a machine to scramble your atoms and reassemble them somewhere else. There is no way in hell I'm ever stepping in that thing.

Your lack of faith in my lack of technical prowess wounds me deeply. I'm sure once I get it built it will work fine. We'll just use Vontaze Burfict as the first human test subject to be sure. He seems fully deserving of the honor.

The very instant that Tepper asks for anything from Charlotte, Meck Co. or state government and he doesn't get it, "London" will be in the next sentence he utters. Make no mistake about it. If he doesn't get his way with a stadium and has the tourism tax foot the bill, the London Panthers will be a reality.

Z-e-r-o chance.    100% unrealistic option.

So your prediction is if he doesn't get what he wants, he says "oh well, that's OK," and nothing happens. Got it.

So your prediction is if the city council doesn't give him any money he will move the team to London?

Do you really believe that is in the set of probable outcomes?

I've seen "The Fly".

My prediction is that he gets more or less exactly what he wants, because let's face it, the scoreboard on public officials saying No to NFL owners doesn't exactly look like anything but a walkover for the owners. Don't get me wrong, I loves me some football, but I can't for the life of me figure out why an insanely popular sport that's raking in literally billions in revenue needs public funds to build stadiums when our schools are falling apart and our infrastructure looks ready to start doing it's best school impression. I'm not worried about Tepper moving the Panthers primarily because I'm not worried about anybody saying no to him. This leaves me with mixed feelings, kind of like when your backup qb plays so well you don't have to rush your face of the franchise back in before he's ready. (See I knew we could make this about the qb controversy if we tried)

Tepper has done absolutely nothing to dissuade me from believing he has a George Shinn-like attraction to moving his team wherever he gets fellated the most.

Don't think for a second that these tweets aren't strategic. They have to be approved by a higher paygrade who is following a directive from someone high up on the food chain. SMH.

He's building a practice facility if you haven't heard.

He's already getting as many breaks as possible and none of them are enough. But glad some of you guys got your autographs and photos, so when he comes to the local government with hands outstretched, y'all will be on his side.

From the Observer on Oct. 4:

Mecklenburg County officials have agreed to decrease the assessed value of Bank of America Stadium by about $100 million, potentially saving the Carolina Panthers $1 million on their next property tax bill. But the team contends the value should be lowered even further.

Mecklenburg County conducted its first property revaluation this year since 2011, giving many property owners sticker shock as values rose by a median of 43% for residential properties and 77% for commercial ones. The increases were particularly sharp in rapidly-changing areas near uptown, an Observer analysis found.

The value of the Panthers stadium surged by 324%, from just under $135 million to $572.3 million.

The team, though, thinks the stadium is worth less than it was even eight years ago.

In a Feb. 19 letter to the county, the Panthers argued that it should be worth $87 million and said they base that estimate on the “recent purchase.” Billionaire hedge fund manager David Tepper bought the Panthers last year for an NFL record of $2.275 billion.

So the Panthers' argument is that other than the new escalators, signage and video board purchased by taxpayers five years ago, 23-year-old Bank of America Stadium is absolutely worthless.

I'm actually in favor of a public-private partnership that helps foot the bill for a stadium.

I am not in favor of thinly veiled politicking, undervaluing assets and disingenuous support drumming.

All those things seem fair. Can't say I disagree with you on any of that. In perfect world the NFL would built it's own stadiums and the only help it would get from local governments is perhaps assistance obtaining land for the location, parking and other transportation infracstructure considerations. But considering how things are now, I'd take a public-private partnership with any kind of reasonable split of the funding in a heartbeat and not look back.
