Yesterday was huge in terms of NFC standings / playoff leverage

Once again, the NFL has conspired to have the Panthers play the very teams they are vying against for playoff position. Somehow this seems to happen every year. Coincidence?

Its either a coincidence or every single teams scedule is arranged with the panthers in mind. Which do you think is more likely?

Yes.

(btw I was being facetious with that other post and it occured to me after the fact that it isn't automatically obvious that was the case.)

Fair enough. It really does seem people think that the entire nfls existence revolves around screwing over the panthers.

I do think Cam has gotten a raw deal on officiating over the course of his career. I don't think that's because of any league wide agenda against the Panthers but rather because officials are unable to set personal dislike of his flamboyant personality aside and enforce the rules equally for all players, and the NFL is unable or unwilling to admit this and deal with it. No fair minded person who follows the NFL closely can say that Cam and Tom Brady have received the same protection under the rules regarding illegal hits. But I tend towards belief in plain old fashioned human fallibility in this regard rather than conspiracy theory.

I somewhat agree. I dont think its because refs care about his personality though. Its because he has the physique of a greek god while brady is a pre pubescent. A hard hit on cam looks normal while the same hit on brady looks like murder.

I think that's probably one of the factors as well. It's an annoying but perfectly human tendency. Shaquille O Neal had to deal with the same thing in his NBA career. I mainly cite distaste for personality as somewhat conjecture but also based on that specific infamous comment Ed Hochuli made to Cam about not getting that call. #$^% Ed Hochuli. There's a difference between being human and prone to natural human biases and tendencies, and actively telling a player you are charged with protecting in a violent game he's not getting calls for any reason other than you don't think the call was objectively there. That's bush league bs and I don't believe Hochuli is some anomoly in that regard, so color me skeptical, because Cam hasn't failed to get calls in only Ed's games.
