Cam should start vs SF and thoughts on Kyle Allen

The fact that you need to compare him to anyone is telling. How shocking you choose someone that supports your opinion.

He is Kyle Allen. A guy that as of now looks like a starter in this league and is writing his own story. Former #1 HS recruit, fugged up in college, has matured and now making the most of his chance. What's not to like?

Making comparisons is what talking sports is all about. When team drafts a player you think they don’t make comparisons?

He he looks like a QB who taking advantage of a great supporting cast and isn’t being asked to do much outside the rudimentary and people are crowning him, a story that I have seen plenty of times with other fan bases, to later be disappointed when the crown one gets figured out. Trubisky, Keenum, Alex Smith ext..

You think Will Grier wouldn't have won a game where the defenses forces 6 turnovers? 7 including a muff punt

How about a game where we rush for over 260 yards?

What about a game where the defense hold a team to 10 points

Almost every backup in the nfl given those 3 situations would be 3-0, it’s almost impossible not win with that much handed to you

strangely from the time he's gone in he's had a grasp on getting plays called and getting in and out of the huddle in a timely manner and we haven't been wasting timeouts.  that's crazy and really an indictment on cam's lack of improvement in this area.   i have trashed this coaching staff for it over and over and over again.  turns out it isn't their fault.

I have had the same thoughts. I was always so frustrated about how slow even their hurry up was.

That hasn't been the case though as of late, and I have to consider Kyle being in there has something to do with it.

i've been really critical of ron throwing players under the bus in pressers, but we're finding out just how much he protects his players.   no wonder they like him.   and its amazing how many things (dwill), cams ability to get in and out of the huddle... they've been able to keep in house or he's let everyone think is a coaching staff issue when it isn't.

Tampa's  D shut down our running game again....

I'd rather have Healthy Cam running the "  read option "  and our chances with Cam than Kyle.

Kyle's passing ability is no better than Cam's ..  He throws high, short etc..  Kyle's be remarkable...  Kyle's not had to lead us with a come from behind 4th quarter win..  Our  D has been balling out.  How many shore fields has the Offense been given..

Cam ( healthy ) is the better QB ..

Duh? They're giving Allen a simplified playbook. He's not being asked to read a defense or audible out of a play. The playcalling obviously will be much faster.

Cam prior to Shula never had problems. In the Shula years Cam didn't have a problem when he could call his own plays.

So you're admitting that you have no clue..you just like to disagree for the entertainment. Because almost all draft comparisons are bs.

There are some valid comparisons that exist. Like if you could break down in their actual play styles why Keenum and Allen are similar. I dont think they are similar players when it comes to film. Allen has more arm strength and has more size. I think Keenum is a lefty too. I could be wrong about that.

Also you might be able to compare the two after a longer body of work. Even if their style are different....but right now you've got nothing to go off with that Keenum comparison.  In fact the only comparison you could make, and its inaccurate too, is Kurt Warner. Who had Marshall Faulk. Like we have CMC.

so some of y'all prefer: cam puts us in a hole, cam gets us out of a hole, cam puts us in a hole, cam gets us out of a hole.

it is an exciting and stress inducing deal and he has to be superman to make it work.   he's not superman anymore.   i don't think he has what it takes to be an effective qb without being superman.   he can't even get us in and out of the huddle on time.    its really pretty eye opening to see a backup qb come in and do it with no effort at all.   but we'll see what happens.  i'm not married to being correct.

As for Allen I don’t think he a franchise QB and I think it will be incredibly hard to reach much less win a SB with his limited talent. He reminds me of Trubisky last season when the bears went 12-4 or Keenum in 2017 when the Vikings went 13-3, fans will buy into them cause they are winning and not getting in the way of the team. But when push comes to shove and they are asked to carry the team that’s where they fail.

I don't entirely disagree that he's not a franchise QB.

But you don't need a franchise QB to win a Superbowl.

Yeah, bullshit. Until I see him audibling at the line out of a play I'm not believing it. He's not being asked to do much.

cam didn't do that in his 5th game either.  give it a rest.  he dropped some real dimes yesterday that just got dropped.  kid played really well.  we won.  be happy.

Yeah he did, often. He does it more when he has more time on the clock. Allen has ?never?? I can't even recall an instance where he changed a play.
