Cam should start vs SF and thoughts on Kyle Allen

Practice is practice.  Games are games.

You see it when NFL seasons start.  Takes awhile for offenses to get going.   They have been practicing for months.

I’m all about the return of Newton.  And I started 2 weeks ago saying Tenn should be the earliest.  Because even if healthy he has two things working against him vs SF....normal rust and a shoulder he has thrown back into shape yet

should be a non-discussion, as I think it is clear Allen starts the next game based on what Ron has hinted

I get your concerns, I guess they are valid in your eyes. I think because he has already been through OTAs and TC, and even played a few games. He should be on the fast track to return. I'm serious about a full week of full participation should be plenty. After all, he will be doing things long before he finally hits the practice field.

My only concern about getting Cam back on the field is how it will effect Kyle.  Our last 6 games are Atl, NO, Wash, Atl, Sea, Ind, and NO. It would be nice to have a healthy, and prepared Cam for that stretch.

When the time comes, Rivera and co. need to use an honest eyeball test on Cam. He doesn't see the field until he is ready.

the presence of 3 timeouts going into half time and the 4th quarter has been so refreshing and good for my mental health.  the years and years of screaming at everyone but who was causing the issue have taken a toll.  i'm not looking forward to dealing with that again.   at least i'll know who to scream at now.  y'all think its gonna go well when that happens again, in our home stadium.  i doubt it, not if its costing us as much as it has in the past.

and y'all like KA hasn't faced adversity yet.  he will, but its amazing how much less you face when you don't dig a hole first.   the team has hidden who has been responsible for a lot of issues.  we all know now.  i don't think cams deficiencies have ever been this bare to the public.   gonna be interesting to see how he handles it if he ever goes back in. there's gonna be no one for him to hide behind now. and he's been hiding from it, letting everyone take the blame but himself.

Rust is a factor for a QB that hasn’t played in 6 weeks.  Not only will he be rusty from not playing but he still hasn’t had a lot of reps on that shoulder (and we know from other QBs that takes awhile)

Wins are wins in the NFL.  All that matters really is getting to the postseason and  a new season essentially starts

Our O will need to be clicking to have a shot vs SF.  Allen a better option.  Not because he is better but our O could be

You have practice to take off the rust, not only that but this is Cam’s 8th season it’s should be a factor

Also if Cam isn’t healthy in 2 weeks I highly doubt he will be healthy the week afterwards. Also if we somehow manage to beat SF in a low scoring game like Houston theirs no way Rivera benches Allen and we will never see the ceiling of this team with Cam

I don't think Allen is a franchise QB because (terrible comparisons) and (inaccurate assumptions) but mainly because it would hurt my feelings.

What your comparison then? Let me guess Brady lmao

ironically if you compare Keenum 2017 per game started stats to Allen they are almost identical and Allen has a better supporting cast.

The fact that you need to compare him to anyone is telling. How shocking you choose someone that supports your opinion.

He is Kyle Allen. A guy that as of now looks like a starter in this league and is writing his own story. Former #1 HS recruit, fugged up in college, has matured and now making the most of his chance. What's not to like?

He appears to have a very firm handle on Norv’s system. That’s not insignificant.

strangely from the time he's gone in he's had a grasp on getting plays called and getting in and out of the huddle in a timely manner and we haven't been wasting timeouts.  that's crazy and really an indictment on cam's lack of improvement in this area.   i have trashed this coaching staff for it over and over and over again.  turns out it isn't their fault.
