Cam has played 125 regular season games and has never won 5 straight without throwing a pick. Kyle did that in his first 5 games.

Everyone said today's game would be the litmus test.

All week people said when Cmac cant run Kyle will be exposed and we will be begging for Cam to come back.

You are correct.  However SF is the one I had circled.  They are playing really well.  They will pressure the  QB and play on the backend.   Bucs only do one.

It’s gonna be a score like the Texan game.

The SF game will be the litmus test for Allen.  Period.

This. If Allen is able to go to San Fran and pull out a win against THAT team, then all bets are off and we have to REALLY look at riding Allen over Cam. I love Cam and want him to com back healthy bit I also want what's best for the team and for us to play the guy who gives us the BEST chance to win.

kyle allen can play conservatively and the team around him is good enough to win.

from receivers to defense to special teams this has rarely been the case for cam, and when it has he's outshined nearly everyone. when it hasn't he hasn't been able to afford to play conservatively. cam throws picks because he takes shots at game-breaking plays, which is what ultimately makes him great.

OP is a dumb poo and anyone fixated on the (genuinely remarkable, objectively) 5-0 stat as an indictment of cam's play is a dumber poo.

I didn’t say we should bench Cam and you admit that the stat is genuinely remarkable, yet I’m a dumb poo? Oh.

Cam makes the most amount of money and his best days are clearly behind him.

Interesting observation there.

Since Butker was on the Panthers there's been this constant refrain that he and/or Slye should be kept over Gano because they were so much "cheaper".....even if turned out they were less productive this was the desired outcome --- save the money.

Does the same paradigm apply to the situation with Cam & Kyle?

Kyle had a very good, efficient game today. He didn’t win us the game (if that was anything, it was the defense) but he absolutely meaningfully contributed to the win. If he had played like the last two weeks, we would have lost.  The 7 turnovers and 6 or whatever sacks were the difference though. Props to Kyle and huge props to the defense and props to McCaffrey for keeping pounding even though he was getting crunched immediately every run play heh

i really didn't understand that game today.  garrapolo was throwing 7-10 yd balls to wide open receivers all day.  i wonder if they make us look like that.  i doubt it.  and goff just sucked.   i think we're very similar to the niners.  we could win or lose but we're similar and would be looked at like them right now if not for you know who starting the first two games

it doesn't matter.   what the whole universe sees is kyle allen is 4-0 this year, 5-0 overall.  qb takes too much blame and credit.  that's the nature of the biz and all he will be judged on is his record - fair or not

Kyle is a great game manager.  He’s clutch when we need him the most.  Also, Kyle is extremely calm and does not let negativity get into his head. While Cam is more physically gifted and offers little extra spark with his running ability, Ryan is a field general.  With CMC on the team... Kyle is a perfect complement.  Allen is also only 23 and 5 years before his prime age.  He need to continue to develop.

Kyle did what was asked of him and it’s to manage the game and not to make mistakes.  He put together 99 yard drive... that’s absolutely amazing for a young QB.

Cam will be looking *at least* for $20 million per year when his contract is up. Kyle Allen is making $495,000 this year. Even if you think Cam is better, is he over 40x more valuable after 2020 than Kyle Allen?
