Cam has played 125 regular season games and has never won 5 straight without throwing a pick. Kyle did that in his first 5 games.

For me the difference is that Allen’s “big play” ability is that he sustains drives. He also makes the lay up throws that Cam sometimes misses and it makes it easier for the offense to stay on the field. The big plays come from the weapons doing it for Allen. Maybe some of that isn’t fair to say as we haven’t seen Cam truly healthy this year. But if I had to compare their games that would be one difference.

He’s definitely not the playmaking stud Cam is but we also haven’t seen Allen peak yet and you can’t deny that the team has something going on right now.

The Panthers are looking like a playoff team. I’m  very torn on it because I love Cam to death but at this point I don’t see Ron jeopardizing a win steak until Allen gets exploited or plays really bad.

Yea all that’s totally fair, but to my recollection Cam was hitting those layups early last year in Norvs system. The “inaccurate Cam” rhetoric (not you, but the media and lots of ignorant fans) has always been a result of the style of offense. Before Cam got hurt last year he was hitting those quick passes and timing routes that people have been saying for years that he couldn’t when claiming Cam couldn’t run a WCO, or claiming that he’s inaccurate.

Kyle has been great for what he is. But he also hasn’t been nearly as much a one man show as Cam’s had to be the majority of his career. Allen makes less mistakes for sure, but also fewer big plays.  My opinion remains the same as it was after his two poor games. Thrilled to have Allen as our backup, can’t wait for Cam to get healthy.

stay w Allen

Oh I agree. Cam can play any system. But I do think it’s in his nature to go for the big chunk plays over the 4-5 yard gains. I think that has a lot to with his mentality and confidence as a player, as well as  his sheer physical talent than it does anything with his processing or accuracy.

you should bash cam for lying to keep his job the first 2 weeks.   absolutely should if you're a panthers fan.   any other player did what cam did they would be fair game too.   getting his job back is a whole different story.   not while kyle is winning.   any of y'all think of what happens if cam doesn't play well and gets pulled for allen at some point?  this is no small deal. this is all that will be talked about in the media.  there is no going back to cam if that happens, ever.   ride the kid until he's the reason we're losing.   whether you think cam is the future or not, you don't put him out there until the public is screaming for him.

He's doing a good job managing the game.

We're not winning a SB with Ron though.

Why not?  Game Managing is no longer a bad word like it used to be.  The best game manager in the league is Russell Wilson.  He obviously has other attributes, but one of his strongest traits is game management and efficiency.

People are overthinking this. Kyle IS AND should be our starter going forward. Small sample size yes but a very meaningful one. He just has “it”, Cam is just done, pure and simple. Unless KA has a meltdown game or two and just loses it, he should be our starter going forward

I agree.  It would be nuts to bench him.  Who cares if you hurt Cam's feelings.

When Wilson was the game managing QB, he had one the best defenses of all-time. Russ is no longer a game manager, he runs around till things open and he complete the pass. He also kill defenses with his legs.

Why not? Cause Ron and his soft zone is a problem. If the opposing team turn the ball over 7 times vs Patriots or Saints, they'll lose by 30+
