Cam has played 125 regular season games and has never won 5 straight without throwing a pick. Kyle did that in his first 5 games.

Given that fumbles result in a turnover about half the time while picks result in a turnover 100% of the time,  I disagree completely and have a hard time understanding why anyone would take this view. The loss of possession is the negative here. Why would anyone say that the mistake that results in this negative about half the time is worse than the one that always does?

We are obviously talking about lost fumbles, which are worse. Interception are more than likely thrown down field when a QB fumbles he’s fumbling backwards giving up field position

It wasn't obvious you were talking about lost fumbles, since you just said fumbles. If you specify LOST fumbles, then yes, they tend to be worse field position. To be fair I didn't read your post, just the post that quoted a portion of what you said, so in that sense if there was something in the portion of your post which clarified lost fumbles that he didn't quote, my apologies.

Please read everything I wrote. HEALTHY Cam WAS a great qb. Allen IS playing great. I said it’s a great spot to be in providing Cam can come back healthy. People were disregarding Cam’s past career as a Panther so I posted a link countering it. It’s possible to have two good players on a team that play the same position. Kind of like the Eagles situation when they won the Super Bowl. I hope Allen goes undefeated and takes wins is a Super Bowl. I would be equally happy if healthy Cam comes back and wins us a Super Bowl.

....since what you want is a Super Bowl win and you don't really care if it's Buster the Wonder Horse that gets it for us. How unacceptably lacking in agenda your position is. In future please adopt an agenda that will allow you to argue things unreasonably yet passionately in the face of all evidence to the contrary. This is the internet. Standards must be maintained.

It's a team win, not a notch in Allen's belt. I mean really, we should be undefeated or 5-1 at worst and some of you guys can't just celebrate... you'd rather lose and place blame, am I right?

Did you eat mushrooms?

Kyle has been great for what he is. But he also hasn’t been nearly as much a one man show as Cam’s had to be the majority of his career. Allen makes less mistakes for sure, but also fewer big plays.  My opinion remains the same as it was after his two poor games. Thrilled to have Allen as our backup, can’t wait for Cam to get healthy.

I'm at a lame 50/50 right now as to who I want to start after the bye, but if anyone tries poo-poohing what Kyle Allen has done or tells you that it's offensive or moronic to want Kyle to keep starting, just show them that stat. Kyle makes the least amount of money on the team and his best days are clearly still ahead of him. Cam makes the most amount of money and his best days are clearly behind him. It's a very tough decision as to who starts going forward no matter what anybody says.

The SF game comes at a perfect time to continue the Kyle evaluation. He made it through a game without losing a fumble and 49rs should be another step up. I also think that anyone who doesn't want Cam back at full potential is No True Fan. Or maybe just stupid.

kyle has never won NFL MVP

That is a difficult thing to manage 5 starts into one’s NFL career as a 2nd year UDFA.  Merely by virtue of age alone his resume is the lesser of the two. With Allen the question isnt what has he done but what is he capable of? Growing into a full time starting qb or not?  Evidence so far suggests it’s possible but still far from certain, meaning more evaluation is needed.

With Cam the question is what is he still capable of if healthy, and can he get healthy and stay that way for any length of time? It’s possible he could return to MVP form and his performance in the first half of the season last year shows tantalizing possibilities. At this point thorough evaluation is needed.

Therein, as the Bard tells us, lies the rub. We have two quarterbacks who each need extensive evaluation for different reasons, but only one team for them to play for and be evaluated.

Cam doesn’t need to be 2015 level to win with this team

No I don’t think he does. I think the question with Cam is can he be effective running less? The most foolish option on the table at this point would be to hand the team back to him and expect that he can continue to run the football to the degree he has in the past and stay healthy.

Paying a qb on the wrong side of 30 the going rate for anyone with league MVP on their resume when that player has a significant injury history and officials have demonstrated a measurable deficiency in applying the rules evenly to protect that player from harm seems less than prudent unless the player can demonstrate effectiveness while running less.
